How can he say stuff like this with a straight face is beyond me. I guess it shows what being a skilled liar can do.

Obama on Benghazi the hurricane: “We leave nobody behind”
POSTED AT 10:07 PM ON OCTOBER 30, 2012 BY ALLAHPUNDIT
If President Romney had said something this oblivious with the cloud of Benghazi over his head, it’d be the lead story in political media for the next 24 hours. As it is, it’s “president comments on storm” soundbite filler for the evening news. Democratic membership has its advantages.
ndeed, but if you focus too much on what they didn’t do that night, you risk forgetting what they didn’t do before then. They effectively left Chris Stevens behind the moment they denied him any real consulate security and stuck him with a skeleton crew of Libyan contractors. How is it, per Panetta, that we can’t send armed troops into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on but we could send an unarmed diplomat and his staff?

And Ignatius is apparently quite right that the drones they sent to the consulate during the attack weren’t armed. Fox News reported that earlier today. After you watch O here, I recommend reading this NYT piece about the next intervention looming for the U.S., a clean-up effort in Mali against jihadists who managed to establish a base there with the help of heavy weapons they looted from … Qaddafi’s arsenal in liberated Libya. Maybe we should start gaming out which African country will be destabilized by intervening in Mali next. Exit quotation: “I think Charles is a little too hard on Obama. Frankly, it’s huge progress that he didn’t blame this hurricane on a video.”

No one has been held accountable yet, have they?

Saying that someone would be held accountable isn't the same thing as actually holding someone accountable. Apparently, the only person this royal regime intends to hold accountable is the filmmaker who made a silly film two years ago.

["Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco"
"The Navy's Seals took out one of America's enemies. Its up to all of us to take out the other one on November 6th"
"The noise you hear is the sound of freedom"

Been away for awhile, little distractions like MCAS Beaufort, watching the bathing suits pass by on the beach at Tybee Island, enjoying the snow falling at 37 degrees at the intersection of I-77 and I-81, sitting in a non forward moving, but still rocking and bouncing vehicle in the rain and wind somewhere on 81 north of Harrisburg at 59 degrees waiting for the PA State Police to re open the highway in the eye of the storm.
Here's a little insight into the mind of Obama on Benghazi.]

"During the 2008 campaign, Senator Obama ran successfully on the widely accepted notion that he was The One We had Been Waiting For. On September 11, 2012 — well before the first presidential debate on October 3rd — he may have thought that he could do almost the same during the 2012 campaign. However, since a disaster in Benghazi for which he might be held responsible could diminish his chances, it was necessary to avoid any appearance that he himself might be in any way culpable. A ruse concocted about an obscure anti-Islamic video probably looked as as though it would be the most likely to work, provided an outpouring of many inconsistent facts could be delayed, perhaps until after November 6th. After all, his brilliant war on Islamophobia should be working as well as hoped.

The Great Benghazi Cook off Chill out

Hence, the “cooling out” process, well described by Thomas Sowell, proceeded. President Clinton had done a decent job of cooling perceptions of his amorous escapades and keeping them from becoming a bigger deal than they did (strange word, “decent,” in that context).

When the accusations that led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton first surfaced, he flatly denied them all. Then, as the months passed, the truth came out — but slowly, bit by bit. One of Clinton’s own White House aides later called it “telling the truth slowly.”

Anybody else here remember President Nixon’s modified limited hangout — “release of previously hidden information in order to prevent a greater exposure of more important details” — during Watergate?

By the time the whole truth came out, it was called “old news,” and the clever phrase now was that we should “move on.”

It was a successful “cooling out” of the public, keeping them in uncertainty so long that, by the time the whole truth came out, there was no longer the same outrage as if the truth had suddenly come out all at once. Without the support of an outraged public, the impeachment of President Clinton fizzled out in the Senate

Unfortunate, but at least one other president (JFK) had enjoyed extracurricular sexual adventures while in office (but probably not in the Oval Office) with no politically adverse consequences. Then came President Obama’s Libyan misadventures, less titillating but more central to the nation’s security.

We are currently seeing another “cooling out” process and another “modified limited hangout,” growing from the terrorist attack on the American consulate mission in Benghazi on September 11th.

The belated release of State Department e-mails shows that the Obama administration knew, while the attack on the American consulate was still underway, that it was a coordinated, armed terrorist attack. They were getting reports from those inside the consulate who were under attack, as well as surveillance pictures from a camera on an American drone overhead.

About an hour before the attack, the scene outside was calm enough for the American ambassador to accompany a Turkish official to the gates of the consulate to say goodbye. This could hardly have happened if there were protesting mobs there.

Why then did both President Obama and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice keep repeating the story that this was a spontaneous protest riot against an anti-Islamic video in America?

The White House knew the facts — but they knew that the voting public did not. And it mattered hugely whether the facts became known to the public before or after the election. What the White House needed was a process of “cooling out” the voters, keeping them distracted or in uncertainty as long as possible.

Not only did the Obama administration keep repeating the false story about an anti-Islamic video being the cause of a riot that turned violent, the man who produced that video was tracked down and arrested, creating a media distraction.

All this kept the video story front and center, with the actions and inactions of the Obama administration kept in the background.

The White House had to know that it was only a matter of time before the truth would come out. But time was what mattered, with an election close at hand. The longer they could stretch out the period of distraction and uncertainty — “cooling out” the voters — the better. Once the confidence man in the White House was reelected, it would be politically irrelevant what facts came out....."

One poster somewhere has put up a cartoon comment of the 'Three Monkeys" disguised as the news organizations, ABC, CBS, and NBC. CNN not present since they're already on the DNC's payroll to level all the hills and fill in all the valleys in the daily news regarding Obama. I don't think the news orgs are one bit embarrased.

no, hes not a lair, seriously. He believes most especially in these instances , everything he says.

he has spent his young adult life and forward in a bubble.

He (like all politicians but even more so) has an out/over sized ego, and in Obama case remember, everyone he knows ( as in values) has tripped over themselves telling him what a wunderkind he is, hes the best of the brightest. He believes that.

So, if you asked him if he thought his comment on no one left behind was 'off' and explained why he'd look at you curiously and earnestly tell you why you are wrong....

Or, if you asked him if he saw thew irony in his team putting out these missives on how hes at the DC command center overseeing Fema etc. and compared that to hitting the hay the night we lost 4 men, he'd look at you perplexed again.....

More stuff, America haters, through and through: Dineesh D'Souza's summary that Obama regards America as a rogue colonial bull elephant rampaging across the rest of the world looks more and more accurate with each passing day.
