We haven't found aliens because they're aren't any

What if, in 2K years, WE are the aliens looking at immature civilizations and laughing?
It could be true that we are the first. Im not saying I believe it but it is a possibility..
We are also only looking for carbon-based life. Life could go beyond carbon.. We don't know shit..
Will USMB be here in 2K years?

no, it will be a casualty in the inevitable socialist revolt because of genocide people like you promote :banned03:

...and so with camouflage being the first rule of survival they may very well be among us like some fungus and we don't even know it...

Along these lines, has anyone ever considered perspectives? Do you realize there are probably about a million or more "entities" residing on or inside your body at this very moment? It's true. They are microscopic organisms, but they are organisms and they are present whether you see them or not. There could very well be alien civilizations so small that would never notice them, even if we were standing on their planet.

Will remnants of USMB be floating in space to someday be found by aliens?

Today's 'Science Daily' has an article suggesting that a good deal of alien life may have come into existence and perished long before we could spot them (or before they could develop enough to spot us). The development of life does not guarantee its persistence. The article mentions that both Mars and Venus may have once been hospitable to life, but conditions changed such that they are now not.

This, combined with the fact that most life-friendly planets have yet to be formed, makes it pretty unlikely we will be feeding Reese's Pieces to any bony-fingered gray visitors any time soon.

You're completely ignoring the experiments because it's not what /you/ are looking for aka right now proof.

As I said, personally I have little doubt that they have recreated not only the processes on early earth that started life, but also the process by which cells evolve to multicellular.

But they haven't and the previous post you made tells you they haven't. This is the problem with many people who wish to believe this... you get the cart ahead of your horse. When you start with a conclusion then construct a hypothesis around it to support the conclusion, that is not science and not how science works. It's simply a hypothesis based on speculation.

By your ideology then, technically nothing is proven. I personally prefer to believe that the scientists aren't just "making shit up," if you wish to believe otherwise, that is your choice, as I said.

The only "ideology" involved is not mine... I guess you can blame Isaac Newton because he developed what we call the Scientific Method. Using THAT ideology, we can't presume things to be true that we cannot prove. You must have evidence that can be tested and measured. Even then, it is not PROOF. Science only predicts a probability of possibility, and we can draw conclusions from those predictions. Our conclusions can often be incorrect.

For instance, every physics book in America is wrong. They state the universe is mostly comprised of atoms. We now understand that is not true. The universe is mostly (96%) comprised of dark energy and dark matter and we have no idea what it is. Often we have to revisit our conclusions in light of new evidence. So, yeah, in a sense, nothing is ever proven.

Now.... you assert that I believed scientists were "just making shit up" and that's not something I ever said. I understand there are theories on how life originated. These are called Abiogenesis and there are dozens of competing theories regarding this. However, there has been no revolutionary breakthrough of discovery. We simply do not know how life originated.

Life on earth is a mathematical impossibility.
---
That's like saying you have experienced mathematical infinity.
.

Well actually, if one considers a Big Bang happening, the odds that this earth just happened to become placed in a position whereby it could support life as we know it and also have all the right condition to support this life as we know it is in itself a stretch. If one further does the math, the odds of a single cell lifeform springing forth from some slime pool is practically an impossibility. The mathematical probability of a single cell mutating into a two or more celled lifeform is beyond the pale of any expectation.
And yet, it was destined to happen at the very moment of the big bang.
BIG BANG...... Hope you are not talking about your big guns. We are talking about life forms from outer space.
Yes....and?
I thought this topic is about life from outer space. Maybe you are in the wrong thread.

... I guess you can blame Isaac Newton because he developed what we call the Scientific Method. ....

Whoa...no, he did not.

Well... maybe you don't believe Newton helped develop the scientific method along with several other 17th century early scientists... but he did.

That was Wayne Newton.

Mr. Entertainment, Mr. Las Vegas, Mr. Scientific Method! Danke Schoen!

You're way off.

Normal convention when you're being an obtuse and obstinate little ass weasel is to actually point out HOW someone is way off or wrong. Now you know.

You're only off by about 2000 years.

Only IF you are a moron who confuses "developed" with "invented." Now shut your pie hole and go sit in the corner for 15 minutes.

You suck at admitting you're wrong. Insecure?
