How is this anyway socialist in nature?How are the people debating this issue socialist?If anything the age should be increased.
When I was 16 I was as dumb as a brick, a complete moron, a follower, stupid as F. I've only improved slightly in the years, but it's still slight improvement.
Voting, drinking, driving, gambling should be min. 18, more appropriately if you ask me, 21. People are living longer, responsibilities have changed drastically. When agrarian society was more the norm, a kid might help his parents work the land, he learned hard work and responsibility. My dad lied about his age to join the military. This isn't the same type of generation, not mine and definitely not todays.
Appealing to the young, uneducated and easily manipulated is what socialists need. It's disgusting really.
Debating it is ok, accepting it is just wrong.
I don't want youth being treated like adults in most cases, it's why they are referred to as "youth" and not "adult".
I'm meaning if the far left wish to push for socialism. which I think it can be argued it is the case; they need the uninformed youth to vote for it.

On the surface it seems a bad idea, but then when you stop and think that just this past FY we added 1.27 trillion to the national debt and these 16 year olds will be stuck dealing with that debt after we are dead, seems they might have more skin in the game than we do.

No rational Democrat would think it was a good idea to give children the right to vote so who does that leave?What does the far left have to do with what is being considered by a vote to allow 16 year olds to vote?
I would say I am shocked the Dems would want this, but I am not. If there is a course of action that is completely irrational for a cohesive society to take, Democrats will push it.

Let the 18 to 24-yr olds in the military vote and everyone else has to wait till they’re 25. Seriously if we’re going to let 16 year-olds vote we might as well let 10 year-olds vote too. Maybe even one-year-olds... just let the parents make the decision. As long as they vote for the “right” party is all that matters, right?
