Wall Derangement Syndrome?

Allowing a President to use extortion, i.e., shutting down the government and inflicting suffering and harm to American citizens

Why is it that right wingers ask such stupid questions?

Cause we know the lefty loons can't answer the intelligent questions.

Who's gonna pay for it?

Allowing a President to use extortion by shutting down the government and government services to the citizens of America is a precedent the American people can not afford to succumb to. A President cannot be allowed to inflict grief and suffering on the population by denying government services to achieve his personal wants and goals.

Q1. Democrats are not opposed to the wall. Democrats support border security using technology as well as walls and boots on the ground. Walls are easily breached and will require a long build out and costly maintenance. Trump has created chaos, his one forte, for asking for a blank check of 5.7 Billion Dollars. He has no idea on how to effectively protect out Southern Border, or he would have provided a comprehensive plan for each section between ports of entry.

Q2. Walls can be effective, but as noted above need to be protected by HS Deputies and maintained. Walls can be tunneled under and holes can be cut and Trump's purpose for this entire FUBAR is his ego and ignorance on the wall and how to make a deal.

Q3. You seem to believe Trump is President so he can do what he wants by making threats and carrying them out. It works with McConnell, and worked with Ryan. So real patriots who support and want COTUS defended should be cheering for Speaker Pelosi.

Q1. Which Democrats are for the wall? Please describe their support.

Q2. How is this relevant to building the wall?

Q3. How is this relevant to building the wall?

a1. All Democrats I know are for border security, and some methods are better than others. Of course a wall / fence is necessary at ports of entry - how far out from the portal depends on the terrain.

A2. The first part answered you question, the second part is poetic license and you are welcome to rebut it.

A3. Once again, walls can be breached, tunneled under and are not as secure as Trump infers they are. All the D's I know want border security, but a wall is a metaphor for border security, and it alone is nothing more than a potemkin village.

Think about the terrain, rivers, mountains, small towns and cities which are on or very close to the border. One size does not fit all.

Why is it that the same Democrats who have supported a U.S. border wall in the past now oppose it?

Why is it that the same Democrats who now oppose a wall do not want to remove the walls we already have?

Why is it that the same Democrats value their political power over national security?

My feelings are somewhat in-line with the Democrats. It is really quite simple to understand. I really don't care one way or other for the wall. The wall itself isn't immoral, but with Trump placing his stamp of bigotry upon it during the campaign that has become the primary reason I'll shed no tear if the wall doesn't come about. That takes care of questions 1 & 2.

As for the national security question, I'd bank on the wall keeping out only those Trump referred to as the some he assumed were good people.

Democrats have always been willing to allow the wall. Just negotiate for it.

Breaking all precedent, Trump won't. Hence the problem. He's decided it's his way or no way. Democrats are morally required to oppose the president declaring himself dictator.

At one time Trump was giving money to Schumer and Clinton.

Why is it that voters don't see a wall as a necessary part of border security.
