Slick Willy made reference to this tired ass narrative, among others tonight but he put an interesting spin on it.
He said that two years before the election even took place, Republicans number one priority was not to put America back to work, their number one priority was to put president Obama out of work.
This kind of leads me to wonder what the hell the apology tour and wasting ALL his political capital on a heavy handed healthcare power grab had to do with jobs.
No chance McConnell looked at Obama's priorities and thought, "clearly this fool has no interest in our economy"?
Naaa, we've seen what happens with this amateur chump doing the "driving" with the presidency and both houses of congress and in those two years not a goddamned thing was done in regard to the economy. Sure there was a shit ton of increased federal spending billed as "stimulus" and "shovel ready" but we now know there was more pork in that "stimulus" than there is in the entire midwest and there were no "shovel ready" jobs...despite the fact that all that money is still gone.
