Nah! I really think it is kind of funny. Have you ever seen a construction worker that sat by and took all this bullshit? :D Blue Collar workers don't do that! Those boys in DC better listen up before he really get's pissed and kick's all of their asses!

He's not gonna get pissed. He's a McInsane plant.

Why else would the grumpy old man know so much about Joe the Plummer, even when he couldn't pronounce his name right during the debate. Hell......by the end of it, I thought McInsane was going to offer to blow him right there on stage!

Right. Teh Rove knew ahead of time which door Obama would knock on, threw out the inhabitants and put Joe "Teh Rovian" Plant in his place.

Rove you magnificent bastard!

This just goes to show that can happen to you if you dare question "The One". Those in the press who are attacking Joe are the ones who have been in the can for Obama.

Maybe an Obama supporter can explain this one to me...because I'm getting a bit confused at why were are all attacking a guy who asked a question...and not the guy who gave the shockingly socialist response.

If a woman at a McCain campaign stopped him and said, "Senator McCain, I'm a Iraq war vet heading back for my third tour in a few months and I'm getting tired, I was wondering if you could give me any assurances that you would end the war as soon as possible, I know we need to win - so after that, will we be coming home? "

And McCain, off the cuff, said, "You know what, Sue...I understand that you're tired...but I'm tired of Iran and North Korea...so I can't promise you that, because after Iraq, I'm going to be sending US troops into any country that pisses me off...we're going to be at war for as long as we possibly can cause its good for the economy and US morale."

And then it turned out that Sue the Soldier was really an Obama plant (even though we have no proof or even hint that Joe the Plumber was a McCain plant)...would any of you really care?

Would you care that Sue was a plant? Or would you care what McCain had just revealed about himself and his plans for our nation? I don't think you'd care about Sue's past nearly as much, if at all...compared to McCain's war plans.

Likewise...I think its ludicrous to be pawing through Joe the Plumbers tax records...I don't really give two shits about whether or not he pays his taxes...I care that when Obama is asked a question about taxes...his off the cuff, honest answer...was that he was going to "help out guys behind Joe" by "spreading the wealth around."

So again...maybe you can explain to me why Joe's tax records somehow are more important that Obama's plans to redistribute wealth?

The reason that this story got such big legs is because of McInsane bringing it up REPEATEDLY during the debate. Hell......by the end of it, I thought that McStupid was going to try to crawl through the tv and start blowing him.

Why do I think he's a plant? Well.....first there are his ties to McCain's people, then there is the fact that he's not a plumber, as well as the way that he argued with Obama about his tax plan. Yesterday by the way, Joe the Plummer said that he now understands that he would pay less under Obama than he would under McCain (complete reversal from original position of only a few days ago).

Nope.....this smells too much like a McInsane trap, and given all the other dirty tricks that he's pulled over the past campaign, do you really think he wouldn't stoop to this level also?

Might also have something to do with the flat out lying McCain and his supporters are doing. Obama's "spread the wealth" comment meant that if the middle class got a tax cut they'd be able to spend more money, therefore enabling them to hire faux Joe.

Just because I think it is funny .... does not change my mind that "Joe The Plummer" was a "plant", by the McCain campaign headquarters. Because I do - believe it. At the point that happened I think McCain's aides would do anything in their power to get the Senator back in the limelight, and it worked pretty dang good.

Obama handled it well - by going along with the joke. :eusa_clap:

You want to blame Obama and the media? McCAIN was the one who brought up Joe TWENTY TWO (22) times in the debate.

Know the facts.

Right. He didn't say "spread the wealth" on the newsclip I saw. I clearly said redistribution of wealth, and it isn't lying to call redistribution of wealth exactly what it is ... socialist.

Too simple.

Don't take my word for it. Watch the video yourself. This is what he said, talking about why he thinks tax cuts for the middle class are a good idea:
"My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody. If you’ve got a plumbing business, you’re gonna be better off if you’re gonna be better off if you’ve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybody’s so pinched that business is bad for everybody and I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody."
But watch the entire thing, and try to keep your preconceived notions from affecting what they are saying.

Political Punch

Easy. It wasn't "shockingly socialist". He was saying that we shouldn't have a country that is only the very rich and the very poor. If you think thats "shockingly socialist", well then we are all socialists I think. Shocking!

As to why they are attacking him, mostly because McCain is holding him up as a role model.

The problem with the 'McCain insider', is one has to assume they have mind control going on Obama, choosing which blocks he picks for photo ops and asking 'regular guys' questions. Obama went up to 'Joe', not the other way around.

Perhaps Rove has found a way? Boo!

What is "redistribution of wealth"...exactly? What specific elements of government spending constitute an objectionable redistribution of wealth in your opinion? Surely not your military paycheck, pension and benefits. Surely not the compensation of firefighters and policemen. What about public education? The FDA? Roads, bridges and parks? Cetainly welfare I assume. So perhaps all of our budget problems would go away if we eliminated the roughly 1% of the federal budget spent on handouts for poor people.

Actually, no. Obama tells his staff where he wants to go, they tell the press, and the press shows up. How hard would it REALLY be to show up? When you're on the campaign trail, EVERYTHING is an opportunity for a photo op.

Nope, the press that does that type of coverage follow Obama where he goes. Sure they know the city, but no way do they have the addresses so that McCain's people can get 'Joe' to that address, with his name on title and mailbox. Sorry, but that's eots type of thinking and doesn't really sound like you.

It boggles my mind that even the Obama supporters on this forum don't even understand what Obama was saying. I can only guess that none of them watched the actual video and only saw the clips of what he said spliced and diced and editorialized by the liberal press.

He said that if people making under $250,000 got a tax cut they would spend the money, thereby spreading the wealth around and enabling them to hire plumbers like Joe.

that damn liberal press stirring up trouble again. where does it end?

No, his handlers and scheduling people are the ones that do that. Do you really think that those door to door things are random? Might want to check into that again.

And.....just like everything else, if someone wants it bad enough, they can find a way. All they'd have to do is casually ask where Obama was planning on canvassing that day.

Besides, his name isn't even "Joe".
