USMB Coffee Shop IV

Relax there drama llama.. If it was a dire situation I’d take the chance as any real man would and again cell phones have changed the situation.
I'm more relaxed than you are, Mister Do Nothing.
There was a large concrete block in the freeway traffic lane.
Traffic slowed to 5 or 10 miles an hour switching lanes and avoiding it.

I stopped my car, put on my flashers, held up my hands, and tossed the block off to the side of the freeway.

How long would it take CHP to drive there, through heavy stopped traffic and do that, Mister Do Nothing?

How long does it take a tow truck to arrive and remove a car stalled in a traffic lane? Long time.

I always push the stalled car over to the side of the road after advising the driver of what to do. Sixty seconds, I have the freeway cleared and everyone out of danger.
Never caused an accident, never been sued.

Life can be simple if you take charge and aren't afraid....of "being sued."

These are positive suggestions, Foxfyre. I'm not being dramatic. I'm being honest and trying to encourage men to do what they would want others to do for their own families.

Honest help or kissy-kissy do nothing. Choose only one.

I suggest you offer the men who ignore women in distress some friendly advice. You're welcome.
ChemEngineer,

The Coffee Shop is not the place for this. It is meant to get away from the sharpness, criticisms and angst of the rest of the board. No fighting or put downs.

I strongly recommend you heed Foxfyre’s suggestions.

From the OP:

This is a place to just come in and say hi, let us know what's going on with you these days, celebrate joys, concerns, jokes, music, hobbies, interests, love and life.

So check your spurs, sidearms, politics, and religious fussing at the door, come in to enjoy an adult beverage or a hot cup of coffee and a piece of pie or whatever comforts your soul, and let's just enjoy each oth

Thanks for kind words, Foxfyre, but my former friend and neighbor Ken have gone our separate ways and it is permanent. As for why, all I am going to say is that it takes two to tangle. :heehee: lol

So who saw the auroras/northern lights last night? Hombre and I went out late evening but we were having high winds and it was cold so we didn't tarry. Nothing in the sky then. Most who got good photos were in far western New Mexico in areas with less light pollution and went out around midnight or after--we were already asleep then. May make another try tonight.

I’m happy because spring is here ..😄

but dang it .. I could be wrong.. 😧
Everything in Walker County is every beautiful every color of nature's green as can be. The heat was awful for 2 days, but today, it cooled off. That's the month of May here -- hot and cold with mystic greens all over. Your happy for spring is contagious, Lumpy. Thanks for cheering me up. This past week, I was remembering all the loved ones of my life due to their deaths, so for the first time in years I teared up due to their absence. Now I feel a lot better thanks to all of you here at the coffee shop. :huddle:

Wound up in the er today. I'd been a little sick at my stomach, but the pain in my chest wasn't good and the doctor sent me here.
So... anybody else plant any garden stuff?
Hi, 007! Good to see you again!

I bought a few flower pots, but have been so unwell they didn't get much attention except for watering. One grew 4' tall and has a beautiful lavender circle of flowers on top. Now I'm in the hospital and wishing I had spent time planting flowers, but with all this pain, it didn't happen.

I hope you will tell us more about your garden stuff, so when I get back home I have a springboard for digging and completion of canning. We missed you around here, Mr.007.

Going to Indy 500 qualifiers this weekend....And I probably will be picking up a new (to me) motorcycle for good measure.

Nice bike. I had a Honda CB500 and after that Honda CB650 with a fairing. The first time I went out on the 650 I thought I was doing about 60 miles an hour. But I glanced down at the speedometer and discovered I was doing 90 miles an hour. The fairing stopped the wind buffeting me, and gave me a false sense of the speed I was used to on the 500 with no fairing.

Oh wow, so glad you checked in 007. Was about to put out an all points bulletin on you. No garden stuff for us this year. Schedule is just too crazy to work in gardening. I love to grow things though so really missing it this spring. So you're doing good?
