US to recognize same-sex marriages performed in seven more states

The U.S. government will recognize same-sex marriages in seven more states, after the Supreme Court last week paved the way for gays and lesbians to get married in a handful of states and some appeals court rulings followed suit, the Justice Department said on Friday.

Federal agencies will acknowledge gay unions in Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Nevada and Colorado, it said, and more states are expected to be added to the list in the coming weeks.

America is finally catching up with it's own Constitution.

With those seven states it passes the point of a 2/3rd majority which is the standard for a constitutional amendment to be ratified.

The march of depravity. It won't be long until all 50 states are degenerate.

The difference is these decisions are judicially imposed. A constitutional amendment would take an actual vote. That means all those states that voted for prohibition would get to vote.

The tyranny of the majority does not get to violate the Constitutional Rights of the Individual.

The people of those states appealed to the 3rd branch of government to redress the violation of their Constitutional Right to Equality under the Law. The Judicial Branch upheld the rights of the people.

The people voted to ensure that everyone was entitled to equal rights under the law when the 14th Amendment was ratified. If you want to overturn the 14th Amendment you must follow the Constitutional procedure.

It gets better!

Judge strikes down Arizona's ban on gay marriage

PHOENIX (AP) — A federal judge has cleared the way for legally recognized gay marriages in Arizona by ruling that the state's ban on same-sex unions is unconstitutional.

And here's the best part:

"A stay of this decision to allow defendants to appeal is not warranted. It is clear that an appeal to the 9th Circuit would not succeed. It is also clear ... that the High Court will turn a deaf ear on any request for relief from the 9th Circuit's decision," Sedwick said.

No stay! The USSC may still grant one. But the circuit court almost certainly won't.

There already is a constitutional amendment: the 14th. It forbids States from violating the rights of any federal citizen. And since marriage is a recognized right, the States will need a compelling State interest and a very good reason to ban gay marriage.

They have neither.

And your destruction of the American Dream will come to an end as the demographic shift makes people like you into dinosaurs.

Or the sheer attrition of time sends them off to a dirt nap. Opposition to gay marriage is quite literally dying.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday allowed gay marriage in Alaska to go into effect, increasing the number of U.S. states that permit gay marriage to 31. The nine justices rejected a last-minute request from the state, which wanted to block a ruling by a federal judge on Sunday that struck down the state's ban. Gay and lesbian couples will now be able to obtain marriage licenses.
