I came across these interesting plots and thought I would share....

Here are the regional transmission organizations....

Here are the fuel sources for several of the regions in recent days. Notice how steady and reliable nuclear fuel is.

Meanwhile, notice that the gas (and other) plants have to cycle like crazy to make up for intermittent renewables like solar...

I came across these interesting plots and thought I would share....

Two interesting things:
  1. While the administration tries to curb consumer gas appliances everywhere, gas is like the major supplier of energy most everywhere in generating electricity, so I guess it is bad to use gas in your home, but OK if the plant burns it to supply you with the electricity.
  2. Solar is a pathetic contributor to the power grid most everywhere including even regions dominated by lots and lots of sunny days!
