Unions are (basically) Evil

I see the right wing bullshit is flying all over the place in this thread. Kool-aid drinkers unite and display how easily you're manipulated.
Below is a graph that shows the decline of the working class's share of the National Income that certainly correlates with the decline of union membership. Is it just a coincidence or just plain reality?

The unions are evil, for whom?

t it places American production workers in direct competition with virtual slave labor from China and other global hell-holes. .

dear, why compete at all? We don't compete to grow bananas, for example, we simply buy them from countries that have a huge comparative advantage over us rather than farm our own at 20 times the price in greenhouses. Do you understand?

As you say we do survive but we could survive far better without liberal policies that have off shored about 40 million jobs. The highest tax in the world for example forces companies off shore just to stay competitive. Simple but a liberal will lack the IQ to understand.

Large, profitable U.S. corporations paid an average effective federal tax rate of 12.6% in 2010, the Government Accountability Office said Monday.

too stupid, not talking about effective rate but statutory rate which is highest in world and has driven about 40 million jobs offshore.

Network New Balance

How can we differentiate Hoffa's Teamsters from Capone's Prohibition mob bootleggers?

Both have created 'alternative' networking worlds.

For that matter, how do we differentiate international weapons smuggling rings to Wall Street insider-trading rings?

When labor and capital are centralized without checks-and-balances, the frailties of the leaders catalyze the motions of the state and of business (and its nihilistic orientations).

simple, insider trading us useful as it makes price more accurate while weapons smuggling is 1000% different and depends on who is doing the smuggling and for what purpose.

You have no where near the IQ to be here, dear.

The "correct" corporate income tax rate is "zero."

Most corporations pay no income tax because their profits pass through the corporation directly to the taxable income of their owners (under Subchapter S).

The taxes not paid by corporations under the "zero rate" option would either (a) be paid to the employees as taxable compensation, or (b) be paid out to the owners as taxable dividends, or (c) retained by the corporation for capital expansion, improvements, and so on.

The money NOT spent on tax avoidance is just an added bonus. Consider all the corporations that have recently moved their HQ off-shore to avoid American taxes.

The corporate income tax is just a sop to stupid American voters who believe that Corporations are something other than fictitious "persons" created by the state in order to protect the interests of the owners.

Perhaps the American people should not be allowed to organize into union groups, these groups are generally out for their members welfare. I say we prohibit labor unions, business unions, veteran unions, disabled veteran unions, medical unions, teacher unions, board of education unions, lawyer unions, PTA unions and on an on. With no opposition from unions government could pretty much do as it wished. One problem might be, would government define political parties as unions?

Oh, so cheap, cheap labor had nothing to do with businesses outsourcing jobs offshore?

They really expect us to believe that the difference between an American worker making $25 an hour and the Chinese counterpart making $2 an hour is all taxes and regulations.

to protect the interests of the owners.
don't forget that we're the owners since there are 40 million corporations in America and if not then employees and the customers so corporate interests are our interests too. The Marxist liberal rants about hating corporations is a little like ranting against your parents.

dear, you lack the IQ to be here. Sure cheap labor had a lot to do with it but we still have 95% employed. If libturd govt had not added to the burden corporations face we would be sitting pretty now despite the cheap labor in China and India.

We have 95% employment per EdB!!!! ^^^^^:laugh::laugh:
You just can't make this shit up. Wait a second, EdB can make this shit up in a heartbeat, he does it all the time!:laugh::laugh:

Too stupid! As we all know, "employment" was invented by Thomas Jefferson,153 years after his own death.

Having said that unions are evil, I also believe that unions are appropriate under some circumstances.

In a competitive industry where there is a large labor surplus (talking here about people with basically no marketable skills), it is appropriate for employees to bargain collectively in order to seek a living wage. I'm speaking of retail clerks, janitors in office buildings, lowest-level orderlies in nursing homes, and so on.

But our unions have no interest in "organizing" these folks because they will not exist in sufficient numbers, nor will they able to pay high enough union dues to make it worth the time of union organizers. They are pursuing McDonald's because it is high profile and they are hoping for either a tidal wave effect across the country, or some sort of a decision by the NLRB that multiple franchises can negotiate collectively.

No, unions are interested in maximizing the unionization of entities that are not subject to the constraints of the competitive marketplace: governmental bodies, public utilities, large hospital chains, and industries lacking true competition.

But again, on a personal level, unions create an employment situation that is detrimental to one's personal integrity, as a paid employee. People with any talent and/or professional ambition avoid them like the plague that they are.

Tell me how unions are detrimental to personal integrity.

Why should companies form organizations to keep workers from organizing for better wages and conditions but workers should not be able to organize for their own benefit?

Anti union rhetoric is anti people / pro corporate propaganda.
