Is Europe finally understanding what is at stake? Russia announced a 60% boost to their military. China wll continue to support Russia and based on the Wests comments we will continie to support China. This probably means Russia does achieve their goals in the long run and eventually, over the years, war will be back in Europe. At least Germany is trying to help the resistance and slow down the inevitable based on our inability to learn from history. It seems Germany tries in advance to partially fill the gap that will be caused by the US cutting their spending on financing Ukraine.

I can hear the sound of jackboots from my house......~S~

What, are they going to send them more busted-up Leopards that the Poles have to pretty much rebuild?

Squarehead "aid" put to song.

If the Americans prove too cowardly, false to their democratic pretensions and too cheap even to continue to finance Ukrainian resistance to Russian despotism, many Europeans countries will have to step forward or watch Russian national barbarism sweep further into East Europe. I doubt they will all sit on their hands and watch as Europe’s own economies and political systems get shattered.

Of course a larger more widespread war is possible, and in that case many immigrants will be given a fast lane to citizenship in Europe if they register to fight the new Czarist invader, who simply hasn’t the manpower to win such a war. But a Trump victory in 2024 or chaos in the U.S could upset all plans. It is what Putin has long counted on, and what most of Europe’s leaders and educated public has long feared.

Meanwhile the U.S. and its democratic allies and trading partners in Asia will be threatened much more openly by a defiant China if the U.S. loses its will to aid Ukraine, and its standing in the Near East and elsewhere will deteriorate as well.

The OP comment that the U.S Administration “supports China” is ridiculous and shameful partisan propaganda. Biden has been struggling to keep China from providing open military assistance to Russia, and has succeeded so far, but weakness toward Russia now will guarantee XiJinping feels ever more emboldened. The U.S. position in the world will deteriorate deeply if bloody Putin crushes Kiev.

Of course a “stand in place” cold ceasefire is still possible if the stalemate lasts, but Putin wants to see the Kiev regime wiped out in toto and any real peace would probably require his troops be driven back further as Russia learns that a defeat of Ukraine is … impossible and absolutely unacceptable to Europe. Poland and many other countries will also amp up their contributions and military preparations. Now may be the chance for Europe and a besieged Ukrainian population and army to show what they can do for themselves.

If the West didn't support China the wouldn't have the money to.buy so.much Russian oil. Now China is selling more to the Middle East also, we gave them so mucn technology that they are a major player now too. Kudos to.China for their brazen successes over 30 years. How many sold out the.West to line their own.pockets? China, Russia.and Iran seem to have far greater influence than ever.

shockedcanadian : Trade with a country is not “support.” Trade with a country we and our allies are not at war with is absolutely normal, and for decades trade with China was seen as a way to encourage capitalist and democratic tendencies there … by both parties and most of our allies in the world. Much of the wealth of the U.S. and the whole amazing era of cheap commodities and no inflation was the direct result of that long trade evolution, and new trade disengagement and de-risking and tariffs have inevitably increased world inflation.

I would argue that many changes have become necessary and already been introduced since the XiJinping dictatorship and his cult of personality reversed China’s previous course of open capitalist and cultural reform. Nevertheless the Western world gamble to help China open up and develop was nevertheless a reasonable one.

Otherwise we would probably be facing today in China a mad giant North Korean - like state of 1.4 billion brainwashed and super hostile poor people without any culture or knowledge or sympathy with Western ways whatever, armed to the teeth with nuclear weapons and led by a Communist madman. China today has a population that wants many of the same things American’s want. They have their own minds and may yet surprise the world and kick out bureaucratic dictators like Xi.

my friend, the best quote for today :

If the West cannot win this war, then what war can it win?

Don't they want to send some original Kraut meat to Ukraine to partially fill the gat, that was caused by running out of Ukrainian Nazi meat?
