OSLO, (PIC)-- The Oslo-based European network to support the rights of Palestinian prisoners (Ufree) has renewed calls to the international community to take urgent action against Israel as it continues to contravene humanitarian law.

In a fresh statement marking the 63rd Nakba Day, Ufree said that around 800,000 Palestinians have been detained in Israeli jails since the Nakba (catastrophe) in 1948.

”The policy of arrests began very early, just days after the occupation of Palestine in 1948, in order to end the spirit of resistance with the Palestinians, and to force them to accept a fait accompli,” the statement says.

”That is what Israel failed to achieve despite the turn of 63 years and use of every internationally banned means including imprisonment, murder, torture, and cruel and inhumane treatment.”

And what might that law be?

Is pot legal in Norway?
