Very significant are also portraits of the Hellenistic period of Fayyum, Egypt.

Egypt Hellenistic and then Roman housed many Greek communities, especially in Alexandria and other major cities. At the time of the dynasty of the Ptolemies (especially under Ptolemy II Philadelphus) the area of the Faiyum Governorate was populated by Greek colonists, mostly veterans and military officers (the cleruchi). Accompanying settlers arrived many Egyptians, used in the processing of land. According to scholars, the time of the Ptolemies population of Fayyum was composed for about 30% of Greeks and, for the rest, by Egyptians. So it was that, during the subsequent Roman domination, the Fayyum appeared to be populated by people of mixed origin greek-Egyptian, as well as Egyptians Hellenized. The portraits of the Fayyum, therefore, raffigurerebbero the faces of the descendants of those early Greek settlers who took to wife and Egyptian women who adopted the religious beliefs of the host country. In this sense, the portraits constitute a perfect synthesis of the two cultures.

Fransisco Villar:

The northern Germany and Scandinavia were themselves colonized later by Central European groups.
It was during this process that for the first time the physical traits of blond hair and blue eyes coincided with those of the Indo-European language.
The Indo-European (Aryan) ancestral so they were not blond. The blondness was a physical trait of pre-Indo-European peoples of northern Europe, whose indo was partial, since about population groups from which descend the Germans and Celts, but not the ancestors of the Finns, who never came to adopt an Indo-European Language.
