I'm not surprised; in socialist countries the government gives their muslim immigrants carte blanche to rape as many women and children as they like and won't lift a finger about it. But they DO put people in jail for having the wrong opinion about the most ubiqituously violent religion on the planet. Because they're afraid of being called WAAAYCIST. But putting the socialist Coward Continent aside, the basic, abstract reason I don't like socialism is that I prefer low taxes and a minimum of government bureaucracy in my life. I'm a big boy, I don't need any government to babysit me 24/7, thank you.

The leftists on the board will not believe that.

Speaking of low numbers, I understand that the previous French Islam-fellatrix president Hollande, had ratings in the single digits at some point.

See, there you go.......using the truth, facts and reality to make left wingers cry and pull out their hair. True....I enjoy liberal tears....especially over ice.........but all the screeching gets annoying....

Oh boy, another inconvenient truth the left needs to avoid.

Trump’s approval rating without the skewed and partisan Rasmussen poll is about 38%, about the same as Trudeau. Though the other numbers, including Trudeau’s, must be questioned as that significant point in your OP and link has been debunked.

I forget how many times posters here say comparisons with other countries are invalid as the US is exceptional. But for the sake of argument, if these comparisons are valid shouldn't Trump be enacting the same policies as leaders who have a higher approval rating?

You're looking at one poll, Rasmussen only for one month. Trump's December approval ranged from 41% - 46% across December. They ranged from 44-47% for Obama. Obama and Trump do not have the same numbers for the same period.

RealClearPolitics - which takes all the major polls to produce an average is more accurate. Obama's first term average for the year is 56.9%. Trump's hasn't been calculated but his highest was 45.7 in his first month and it's never been as high since, and is currently 39.8.

I'm not sure how you can meaningfully compare with other countries, there are too many differences and the columnist doesn't indicate where he gets those numbers from. It's more meaningful to make comparisons with other American Presidents.

I don't think they are invalid because of "exceptional" - but they are different countries, different politics, different cultures, different types of government etc.

Putin's rating is like 81%....

Trudeau vs Trump is particularly interesting.

I guess "popularity," to the left, only measures who THEY like.

Yeah......his rating is high or else.

I remember Saddam won his last election with 100%.
