Our beloved Trump has told large corporations to NOT relocate to other countries or face large import taxes on the goods sold back into the U.S...............That was the "stick"
But, Trump also offered a "carrot" and that is, that Trump will repeal 75% plus of all the restrictions and regulations that have been imposed on these businesses.
Now, that sound.....on the surface....quite the bargain to benefit the American worker......But, as Faust traded his soul to the Devil in exchange for power, what Trump has done has 2 major and debilitating consequences.
First, clean air and water will be a thing of the past. Like China, we will experience the devastation of our environment, PLUS, regulation on workers' safety will also go by the wayside....Good luck rig workers, steel workers and construction workers.
Second, the cost of goods will rise dramatically. If large companies are extorted into remaining state-side and hire American workers, the cost of higher salaries will have to be borne by consumers.
The initial "euphoria" in having a tough speaking president will soon meet with the unpleasant stark realities, and as Faust himself found out in the Goethe's tale, the road to Hell is paved with so-called good intentions.
