Donald Trump: We cannot aid Puerto Rico 'forever' - CNNPolitics

President Donald Trump suggested Thursday that Puerto Rico is going to have to shoulder more responsibility for recovery efforts from Hurricane Maria, saying the federal government's emergency responders can't stay there "forever."
His comments -- in which he also blamed the beleaguered island for a financial crisis "largely of their own making" and infrastructure that was a "disaster" before the hurricane -- come as Puerto Rico still reels from a lack of electricity, public health access and a rising death toll. Texas and Florida -- two states Trump won during last year's presidential election -- also were struck by severe hurricanes recently, but the President has made no public indication that the federal government is pulling back on its response there.
He wrote in two separate tweets, "'Puerto Rico survived the Hurricanes, now a financial crisis looms largely of their own making.' says Sharyl Attkisson. A total lack of........accountability say the Governor. Electric and all infrastructure was disaster before hurricanes. Congress to decide how much to spend..."

He continued in a third tweet: "We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!"

Seems our president is annoyed that he has not gotten as much credit as he thinks he deserves

There are still Americans who can't get clean drinking water or medical care. Most of the Americans in Puerto Rico are living without electricity. Obtaining food of any kind is a day by day effort and many rely on standing on soup kitchen type operations.

Why is trump attacking Americans living under such dire conditions? His recent attacks are for one purpose. Deflection away from his failure. He wants to change the subject about the suffering he is directly responsible for to Americans in Puerto Rico. He wants to shift the blame for his own failure to the very Americans who are suffering from his incompetence.

Trump has to keep dabbling in evil to appease his base. Fuck him.

Christ, why couldn't Maria have hit last year, when we still had a real President? My family in San Juan still has no electricity or water. And all the pussy grabber can think to do is insult them.

Your family has paper towels. Tell them to stop being so ungrateful.

It has been three weeks and much of Puerto Rico is without power, medical care and drinking water

Trump fumes: We are not going to support you forever!

Trump is fuming because he thinks he did not get all the credit he deserves
So what if people don't have drinking water or power....Didn't I throw them some paper towels?

Petulant child taking his ball and going home

I find it interesting that he doesn't seem to hold the same opinion of those in a similar circumstance in the VI.

Enough of your used ladies underwear already.

PR is a third world shithole, always has been. Not sure why you think Trump can change that.

He can't
So why is he criticizing their lack of infrastructure and power grid?

Puerto Rico is poor. That is why so may come to the US. Now they are poor and have no homes, drinking water, passable roads or medical care

Why is our President threatening them?
