If you're being charged $15 an hour to assemble one of your cars in Mexico and a US worker is charging you $50 an hour, which end product is going to be cheaper? And you can say, "cool, we'll put a tariff on their cars". Cool. now Mexico will put a tariff on all your goods. How do you think you exporters will like that.
