Trump Moving USDA from DC to Where Food is Grown and Deep State is Furious

At the cost of losing the pool, they have now. The question was, what does it hurt. I answered that. My question is why do it in the first place?

A new pool is not a bad thing, new blood, new ideas, fresh thinking. Not to mention I bet most move, I know a lot of USDA folks and most of the ones in DC are there because they have to be, not because they want to be.

Why do it, it saves the government money in both rent and salaries. The locality pay for DC is 13 percentage points higher than KC, so the USDA saves 13% on every paycheck.
At the danger of sounding conspiritorial, I'll venture that it has more to do, that old blood has ideas that Trump doesn't like and he's trying to get at least some of those people transferred as far out of Washington and sight as he can manage.

I would give you a 100 bucks if you could prove Trump even knows what the hell the ERS is or what they do. I think you are giving Trump far too much credit.

The ERS is almost exclusively economist and a few statisticians. They provide data and analysis of said data. They do not make policy in any way shape or form.

Lol I'm not taking any bet that requires me to prove that Trump knows anything. Thank you very much. And no I do not claim they make policy. I claim that in this day and age it is no longer unthinkable that a government agency would move part of its operation because the sitting president doesn't like the data that the agency turns out. Especially when the people who are moving are exactly those that gather the data.

That is a possibility, I have no doubt that Trump does not like much of their data.

Here's a thought..... Maybe it will be good for the actual Employees. Ever though of that?

Of course not.

Those Federal Workers don't get paid what you think they get paid. And in Washington DC, the price of EVERYTHING is sky high.

Ever been to some of those homes on, say, LongGisland that sell for a half-million in about two seconds?

They're DUMPS. I mean, if they were down here, they'd be condemned. I shit you not.

In Wash DC, the average home sells for nearly $600,000. What kind of lifestyle can a GS 7 making $50k a year living Wash DC have?

Here's a hint....... Poverty, that's how they live.

In the Heartland, that same GS7 will make $45k and be quite comfortable. Mostly comfortable, anyway.

But do dimocrap scum think about that? Of course they don't. They're too self-serving. Too self-centered.

Too dimocrap.

All they care about is making stupid points, stirring up hatred towards a Republican President.

Know why?

Because, well -- They're scum

Well since the people they are moving are mainly in the scientific portion of the agency. This will first of hamper recruiting. A decent scientist does not want to work in Kansas in the field of climatology. They want to have easy access to universities and the infrastructure that goes with it. Furthermore, I can imagine that a lot of people currently employed will not want to move. This would hamper the workings of the agency in the field of research.

For starters, Kansas City, where they are moving is in Missouri, not Kansas.

Climate change is a tiny part of what the ERS does.

Believe it or not, there are universities in both Kansas and Missouri. There are a lot of people graduating from very fine universities that do not have any desire to live in DC, so they now have access to that talent pool.

300 million reasons.

Deep States response to the swamp draining:
"Employees, congressional Democrats and a bipartisan coalition of former USDA leaders" have warned that the move "would devastate the two agencies," per the Post. ERS and NIFA have both recently unionized and some "union officials have promised to fight the move."

Trump to Move USDA Personnel From D.C. to Where Food Grows

Watching a new Democratic President completely erase the Trump legacy in about 6 weeks is going to be amusing indeed. Almost as amusing as watching rightard America head explode from the dizzying speed it will happen.

other than the fact it happened when Trump is president, what is the downside to this move?

skews13 you can't even be honest with yourself... There is no democratic party any longer... You are a member of the Progressive Socialist Party... :argue:

Why didn't the OP do it? Do you often follow him around covering for him?
Just because you didn’t like the OPs source is no excuse not to check for yourself. Ridge actually covered for your lazy ass.
Yeah.... No.
Umm... yeah. It’s your schtick. You bitch about the source like a child no matter what the subject is. It’s your opening post every single thread. You never address the topic or post an alternative source for an argument you just bitch about where another posters article came from.

It’s pathetic really that after this long on a politics forum your go to rebuttal is never the topic.
Lmao!!

If you idiots would stop posting from known conspiracy theory sites as if they had some sort of validity I wouldn't have to. Damn near everything you kids post is from some RWNJ blog or a fake news site like Daily Caller or World News Daily. I'm talking garbage that makes Fox look credible. So you better get used to it, at least until you guys pull your collective head outta yer ass and start looking for some sources that don't push known lies.
After three years of the Russia bullshit from your frauds and you say this?
The Russian involvement is not bullshit. Read the Mueller report. It's available from very reputable sources, unlike most of what you children post.

What you just did there is called an opinion. The facts do not support it.

You have not provided any facts. The documents used were in fact Microsoft Word Docs. The problem is that MS Word did not come out until 1983. CBS and Dan Rather were showing them to be authentic from 1973.
I didn't produce any facts, I quoted yours. They do not support your opinion.

All you did was provided your opinion that you did not agree. You provided nothing empirical to support your position.
They admit they made a mistake. The people who made the mistake were disciplined, some even lost their jobs. Notice the difference between this and what happens when Daily Caller gets caught posting false information.

They admitted they made a mistake because they got busted. Admitting or choosing incompetence when it really was malice was the path of least repercussions. A Lion of journalists does not make such an egregious mistake. Dan Rather was trying to rig an election against George W. Bush and got caught. This is someone who took they story to the airwaves everything Nixon was doing. He witnessed firsthand the fact checking and authentication that needed to take place.

Can you site a specific instance backed by empirical or validated sources where Daily Caller lied?
Easily. Here's one for ya :
Conservative website wrongly ties Clinton Foundation to bad HIV/AIDS drugs

There is none. In all of the chaos that is the national embarrassment that currently squats in the White House, everyone forgets that the change in population demographics is only picking up speed.

But I digress. Dotard has exactly one. That's one. Legislative accomplishment. Signing the Great Republican Tax Scam. By the way was passed by reconciliation. Which will only take 51 votes to overturn it, or what a lot of people don't know, expires in 10 years any way. Unless Republicans keep control of the Senate for that long, that legislation is on borrowed time.

Everything else is an executive order that can be overturned as fast as the new President can sign the authorizations to do so.

I won't even go into the budgetary priorities that will make rightards commit suicide.
