There definately is a strong conservative/libertarian thinking in the Tparty movement but if it get sucked into the GOP then it will lose that quality. I think most Tparty people are compose of people who were already upset at the GOP and formed a unique kind of Ron Paul type thinking. The Tparty can do better on its own that buddying up with GOP assholes.

all that will do is guarantee another victory for Obama.

The Tea Party movement started as a libertarian/Ron Paul leaning group, but I think recent evidence puts that to rest. The Tea Party movement already has a political party, it's called the Republican Party.

I agree. And their nominee in 2012 should be Sarah "Palm Reader" Palin....:clap2:

All the teabag rhetoric is bullshit. What the movement should do is admit that they are still pissed of at losing an election, then shut up and keep voting for gop as they always do.

The GOP has to compete for votes like everyone else and if they can't win then tuff doo-doos.

tea party will take votes away from repubs. so a vote for them is a vote for obama.

A fine example of the partisan thinking of of America today.

Americans are stupid.

that's why they lost the free republic.

Americans aren't stupid, Comrade Stalin. If the tea partiers break away from the republican party and form their own party, it hurts the republicans, and helps the democrats, which would help Obama get elected again. Understand, Comrade?

You're the one implying the People are stupid by saying they'll just vote for Obama or the Reps. You give the People no credit for being able to choose a candidate from a third party, or whose name is not yet known.

That's the problem with this country (one of them, anyway): morons like you are more worried about partisan politics than what's best for the country.

That's straight up bullshit.

There are few things more anti-democratic and defeatist in this country than the argument that you shouldn't vote for the person who you really feel represents you.

This thinking doesn't just play into the hands of the entrenched and unrepresentative major parties, it is the only reason they haven't been rousted yet.

No. I'm worried about reality, you stupid fuck. if the party breaks in half, obama and the democrats win. Deal with that reality or shut your hole, you stupid ****.

I have voted third party before. but if the republican party splits and the democratic party doesn't, the dems win. I'm sorry but that's reality.

Not if the Dems alienate voters and another party provides a better option.

Unless Americans are too stupid to vote on anything but partisanship and party loyalty, as you imply.

There IS a political party that stands for almost EVERYTHING the TP stands for, except of course FEMA DEATH CAMPS, and that party is the LIBERTARIAN PARTY. The LIB party needs to step up and QUIT letting their message be corupted by the Lib/Con press. The LIBERTARIAN party is for SMALL GOV'T, LOW TAXES, and LIMITED FORIEGN ENTANGLEMENTS what MORE do you NEED!!??

Only if you're an unthinking follower.

Almost.

They have a lot in common, but limited foreign entanglements is where you lose them. There are few things the far right loves more than playing Warrior and nothing gets them off like hearing another bunch of Muslims got killed today.

Ron Paul might understand blowback because he's read and understood the intelligence, he might be wary of foreign entanglements because he respects George Washington, but you try explaining that shit to 90% of the right and they mock you as a "blame America firster" while masturbating in a pile of their own feces.

The legitimately fed up faction of the Tea Party could go libertarian for sure, but the Glenn Beck crowd? That's not their scene.

If the Tea Partiers are not powerful enough to take control of the GOP then they will never wield any significant power. If hardline conservatives can't convince moderate Republicans to vote for them then how in heck do they expect win 50% of the vote anywhere? A third party Tea Party sounds like a recipe for winning 2-3 House races in the South and nothing more. If they can't win moderate votes then they'll be reduced to nothing but a noisy rabble with no ability to exert power over anything.
