Many doctors are still not getting the protective equipment they need to treat patients with coronavirus, a doctors' union says.

The British Medical Association (BMA) said its members were putting their lives at risk.

On Friday, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said there was enough kit for everyone and unveiled a plan for addressing shortages.

The UK recorded 980 hospital deaths on Thursday, bringing the total to 8,958.

That death toll, which does not include those who died in care homes or the community, has exceeded the worst daily figures seen in Italy and Spain - but according to England's deputy chief medical officer, Jonathan Van-Tam, it is still "impossible to say we have peaked".

Johnsons government have blood on their hands.

But, but, but, but, socialized medicine.

Further evidence that conservatives are incapable of responsible governance.

Indeed, the right’s unwarranted disdain for government renders them particularly unsuited to successfully address such a crisis.

This is my favorite conservative soundbite today. After getting the army to distribute ppe about a month too late the stupid fuck tells staff not to use it because it is a precious resource.

This is the biggest roasting to come out of this tragedy.
I despise Morgan who in reality should be in jail. However he seems to have remembered that he was a journalist. This interrogation is in marked contrast to the "all pulling together" approach of our predominantly right wing press.
Our government should be put up against a wall and shot for their negligence. They have killed thousands.

Michael Gove has conceded that Boris Johnson missed five consecutive emergency meetings in the buildup to the coronavirus crisis, and that the UK shipped protective equipment to China in February.

The government faced intense pressure on Sunday over its initial response to the pandemic, as Labour accused Johnson of having been “missing in action” during the crucial weeks when the virus first arrived in the UK.

Gove initially insisted a Sunday Times story detailing failures during this period had numerous inaccuracies and would be corrected.

Asked on Sky’s Sophy Ridge on Sunday show whether Johnson missed five meetings of the government’s Cobra emergency committee, and about the shipment of hundreds of thousands of items of personal protective equipment (PPE) to China during February, Gove refused to comment.

What a fucking disgrace. This is incompetence on a trumpian level.
