Some are now suspecting the Promise Program started by DumBama had something to do with it. Basically what it says is if that certain government entities show a decrease in crime, they can get their hands on federal money. It was designed because DumBama felt that the prison population was too disproportionate for minorities. The first thing we could do to help students understand some of their foolishness ... Is to focus on that statement.

There is nothing about this "exact time" that would make any legislation any more comprehensive.
Legislation is not a toy ... It does not exist in a moment ... It is long-standing, intrusive and often logistically irreversible.

The students are suggesting it is the "exact time to talk about gun control" ...
Simply in hopes of maximizing emotions in attempts to draw more misguided support towards the same issues/conditions that existed prior to Parkland.

Don’t blame guns for what happened in Florida.

I'm not, I blame the shooters with an assist by the assault rifle cult that glorifies a weapon that is designed to slaughter human beings in combat. Not only has the assault rifle cult glorified a weapon that does not belong in civilian hands, that cult is responsible for the proliferation into the millions of weapons designed for military use available to just about anyone that wants one to get one or as many as they want.

So you are wrong. All Laws restricting the manufacturer and sale for profit of glorified assault rifles in civilian hands will save lives if not immediately,over time.

Responsible gun owners get it. Cult believers don't. The purpose of renewing the AW ban is to undo the proliferation damage that ensued following the end of the ten year ban in 2004.

The students get it. Adults have allowed a cult set the rules. No more.

Just in. The NRA is suing Florida. Bad move for the cult. Blaming the NRA is quite appropriate. Their moves are still on the side of freedom for selfish shooters and assault rifle manufacturers trumping the freedom of having a full life by every upcoming generation of high school students.
