Time for NATO to pull their own weight?

BRUSSELS — U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis warned allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization that they need to adopt plans to raise their military spending or risk seeing America “moderate its commitment to the alliance.”

His speech, to a gathering of defense ministers on Wednesday, was a stark reminder of President Donald Trump’s threat during the presidential campaign that U.S. support for allies could be conditional on countries contributing their fair share.

Amusing. Let's wait and see if Trump actually chooses to reduce America's overseas empire, or if this is just a ruse to let Putin revive the Soviet Union without us having to lose face.

I have no idea why liberals are scared shitless of Putin. Reagan took care of the Soviets thirty years ago. It's time for Europe to step up and fund their own defense. Why are we bankrupting our country to defend their borders? Putin is their problem far more than he is ours. Also, if they were pulling their weight in NATO, the scared shitless liberals might be able to sleep better at night.
