Dems keep claiming that people love Obamacare and that it lowers costs. At the same time, they have stated that it's "unfair" for government employees on their staff to be forced to participate. As my sig line says:

"Listen this is simply not fair to these employees. They are federal employees.” Congressman John Larson [D – CT] on why it’s unfair to force politicians and staffers to participate in Obamacare.

Time to back up their words with actions. They better not dare criticize Republicans for having their staff go to the exchanges since Obamacare is supposed to be so wonderful. Why don't Dems want to make their own employees use Obamacare? They refuse to participate and they seem to think it would be mean to force their staffers onto Obamacare, but say it's more than good enough for the rest of the country.

GOP forces all staff to use ObamaCare - dares reluctant Democrats to do the same

Obamacare, "the ACA," applies to ALL insurance. There is no such thing as Obamacare - that's something that the right likes shove down everyone's throats.

Thus, if have you have insurance in the United States - It must be compliant with the new law - The Affordable Care Act.

Big difference between keeping your private insurance and being subjected to the "Cadillac tax" and being sent to the exchanges, which is what Dems don't think is fair for them or their employees. Those sent to the exchanges and getting the favored Obamacare companies are likely to be turned down by cancer treatment centers, research hospitals and many doctors.

There is a difference. A lot of people lost their insurance and dislike what they have now (IF they can even afford anything now) because they pay more so they can cover things they don't need. It's not affordable except for the subsidized. Costs have risen and availability of care has diminished.

Again, the Dems think it is unfair to send federal employees to the Obamacare websites for insurance. That tells you all you need to know.

Many people found themselves automatically signed up for policies they didn't choose. It's a fucking scam and more are without now than before.

well then its time for the Republicans to defund ACA ..

oh wait, they have ... 50+ times.

dooooooooooooooooh'

Seems as if the GOP demanded that their own people use the exchange, when using it was neither required nor even necessary....

FAQ What You Need To Know About The New Online Marketplaces Kaiser Health News

Who will use the exchanges?

Most people will be able to purchase coverage on the exchanges. But many workers and their families already have coverage through their jobs, and they will not be likely to buy policies on the exchanges. The marketplaces are primarily aimed at people who are uninsured and those whose employer-based coverage is too costly and/or lacking in benefits.

Most states and the federal marketplace also will offer a Small Business Health Options program, or SHOP exchange, that will give employees more options than they have now. Initially, these SHOP exchanges will be open only for businesses with 50 or fewer workers.

By my reckoning, this was a nothing but a political stunt.

OK, I just figured out what's actually going on....

All Senate GOP staff going on ObamaCare

By Elise Viebeck - 12/10/14 02:17 PM EST

Senate Republican staffers will be required to obtain health insurance through ObamaCare's exchanges under a rule passed Wednesday by the GOP Conference.

The proposal from Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) means that Senate Republicans will designate their staff as "official," moving them automatically onto the marketplaces.

A loophole used in both chambers allows lawmakers to designate staff as "unofficial" or "official staff," which permits them to keep their insurance coverage under the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program.

"Republican senators made a strong, principled statement today in passing my resolution," Vitter said in a statement.

"Washington should have to live under ObamaCare just like everybody else until we repeal it. And we won't be complicit in Obama's illegal rule designed to protect Washington insiders."

Vitter is an outspoken critic of some lawmakers' decision to keep their staff off the marketplaces.

He also opposes the employer subsidy for insurance given to lawmakers and staff by the government, arguing it gives Congress an unfair advantage. The question of whether staffers will still receive financial help to pay for their coverage was not addressed in Wednesday's resolution.

The GOP Conference challenged Senate Democrats to adopt a similar policy and not allow their aides to remain on the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program.

The Republican policy applies to all staff regardless of whether they work in a personal, committee or leadership office. Cloakroom and other aides are also included....

The only thing crammed down anyone's throat was OBAMACARE! And in case you weren't paying attention Obama has referred to Obamacare as Obamacare.

I do to, but it's a kind of a misnomer.

Please read the link I posted for a better understanding of this issue. It may be that the Republicans have a valid point, it does present a loophole, but not really certain how relevant it is with regards to the general public.

Your websites only link to what you are talking about is non-working.

Still not certain what your point is.

Dems said it was unfair to force their staffers to participate in Obamacare. Those aren't my words. Congress has their own better insurance at tax payer expense though they are reticent to allow others to keep their good plans without paying an added Cadillac tax. Why would Dems fight against participation in the exchanges when they tout them as something wonderful?

They know they will continue to get the best of care because they chose the plans they wanted. That is not the case with everyone else. Those who pay for their own plans are hurting because of the increase in rates. Millions lost their plans and can't afford new ones. Obama and the Dems think it's better to go without insurance rather than choose your own.

Well, what's the point? To waste a bunch of money for no real reason? Ask any one in congress to take a pay cut. We foot that bill too.
