The goat herders believed in witchcraft and thought the earth was flat. People who were afraid to be alone at night and sought cover in a cave because they slept in the dark were mortified by the environment. There was no light except that which came from oil or continuing flames. There was no transporation faster than walking....especially for more than one traveler. Religion is major bullshit based upon basic primordial instinct. Folks......get your shit together.

You just can not help yourself can you? You are so stupid, get proved it all the time, and refuse to shut up. But, you are quit entertaining, almost as good as larry the cable guy. Idiot.

Why are you clinging bitterly to your atheism?

so people were afraid of the dark and and sought a dark cave to sleep in?

People were not so stupid even when they lived in caves. You are only afraid of the dark when you don't know what is around you. That is why most of us have no trouble sleeping in a dark bedroom.

LMAO! Dark bedroom. You ever hear of the desert around White Sands Proving Grounds

'Course I had an automatic weapon and a .45 sidearm to comfort me LOL

The primitives were constantly overcome by their fears. It's reflected in every chapter of the bible. Their imagination conjured up some supreme idol who lived UP

Little did they know that twelve hours later UP became DOWN. Kinda interesting that churches still put those pointed steeples on their buildings and that in each and every 24 hour period that thing points to each and every one of 360 degrees around the earth. It points down just as much as it points up. They ought to catch heaven and god in there somewhere.

When I was at White Sands at night I did not have anything but a knife and some blankets. Being a primitive I was quite comfortable, unlike the citified people who needed walls, beds, and guns.

By the way, the Earth is measured using steradians, not degrees. Degrees are an arbitrary measurement, and apply only to circles, not solid angles in three dimensional space. Which of us is smarter now?

Actually I never attended college. Please forgive me for not using the most technical terms.

I do understand the functions of plane and solid geometry though my terms and references might not satisfy you. When I completed an electronics course in the mid 1960's we did all our calculations with a slide rule. At that time it was the only choice except pencil and paper. Do you know anything about the slide rule

I knew about steradians in high school, back when I used a slide rule. I wish I had kept the one I had, it was great, and a lot more effective if I want to get someones attention than any calculator I ever owned. It is a lot easier to figure radians than degrees on a slide rule, even if the conversion between them was a simple matter of setting the index of the C scale to 1743 and simply reading the answer on the D scale. (Actually, there was a little symbol there that I have no idea how to get on my keyboard, nor do I remember what it is called.)

LOL........my son has mine and he has already taught his 12 year old son how to use it. My son got his BS at Case Western and his masters in systems engineering at VPI. He has been in the upper 1 percentile income group of all technical employees in America for the last five years.

Since you only mentioned the C and D scales I figure you jumped on the Google and copied an idea or two

I was talking specifically about converting radians to degrees, that number stuck on my head for decades, 1 degree is .01743 radians. I also know pi to 13 decimal places because my first calculator was that accurate, no better. If I still had a slide rule I would talk about all the other scales. My friend had a circular slide rule, which was a little more accurate, but I preferred mine. I tried to find a picture similar to it on Google, but came up empty. It was about 2 inches wide, 18 long, made of wood, and had a large magnifier on the indicator. Nothing I saw comes close.

Completely ignored my post about my son and grandson. Go For It!!

Hey Cammmpbell:
Do you also advocate throwing out "all government and laws"
because those have become just as corrupted and abused as religions have been?

Anything, any laws, rules, institutions or authorities
become corrupted with fear-based bullying and unfair competition between groups.

If you reject all religions and churches,
do you also reject all government and corrupt politics for the same reasons?

Or, if you have faith that political corruption can be checked and corrected
by ENFORCING the laws that government SHOULD BE FOLLOWING

Can you also see that the religious and church groups stand to be corrected the same way?
By ENFORCING the principles they are SUPPOSED to be living by?

Please be consistent. Don't just attack one type of group, when the same
human flaws and fear-based oppressions have corrupted and befallen
ALL HUMAN INSTITUTIONS.

Yours truly,
Emily

here are some basic civil policies
that if enforced consistently would
allow ALL institutions and policies to be corrected:
