Yeah, shame. People suddenly decided not to just work for wages anymoreActually companies started offering health benefits because during WWII wages were frozen so they began offering benefits to attract people to work for them.
They spontaneously began competing with one another for jobs that provided health insurance coverage because they thought that was all such a great idea. What this country needs is to put both for-profit insurance and employers between me and my doctor! Oh, those huge, cuddly private insurance corporations.. ya just gotta love 'em!
