including 18 times under former President Ronald Reagan, eight times under former President Bill Clinton, seven times under former President George W. Bush, and five times under former President Barack Obama. From 2001, Congress has raised the debt ceiling 14 times from 2001 to 2016. The debt ceiling was raised roughly a total of $5.4 billion during President George W. Bush’s tenure, and it was raised roughly a total of $6.5 during President Obama’s tenure.

The national debt has risen by almost $7.8 trillion during Trump’s time in office. That’s nearly twice as much as what Americans owe on student loans, car loans, credit cards and every other type of debt other than mortgages, combined, according to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It amounts to about $23,500 in new federal debt for every person in the country.
he growth in the annual deficit under Trump ranks as the third-biggest increase, relative to the size of the economy, of any U.S. presidential administration, according to a calculation by a leading Washington budget maven, Eugene Steuerle, co-founder of the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center.

I don't see why the debt is such a problem, the infrastructure plan is important.

Infrastructure is important. It's important enough to actually pay for.

I'd say it's about time we make an attempt to limit spending. Every American family does it. There's no reason that our irresponsible representatives can't do it too. MAGA

Why did MAGA not do it when they held the House, the Senate and the White House?

Almost all Democrats or confirmed RINO's like the Bush's And Reagan. Even though John McCain was never president, he can be included in that crowd.

its 2023 ... the debt ceiling is looming and republicans have a plan ... and nobody has proposed spending as much on loony left projects as Biden ... need cut some faggatry from spending .

Crazy how they always have a plan when they are not in power to make it happen...and when they control Congress and the White House their only plan is to spend more money.

Fuck what went on in the past.....Much less what some Hoser thinks of anything.

A clean Bill was sent to the Senate by the House.....The Senate needs to bring it to the floor for a vote, if it does not pass then it goes into reconciliation.....This should have happened two weeks ago.

Thing is the dems think all our trillions belongs to them to do with as they please. They must have forgot who controls the purse-strings now.

And now you think Reagon is the chief of republicans. It went from billions of debt to trillions.
I am sure if you look up the amount of city, state, local and federal money going into human services of all types it would be exponential growth since Reagan. The Reagan tax cuts, cut 23% of the federal taxes from the lower taxes over a three-year period. They were suffering. There was no indexing and a lot of tax brackets before that. The 1970's was stagflation and inflation. Wages did not even keep up. If those same tax rackets without indexing existed today, earnings in the 50 to 60 thousand range would e taxed at 50% in that bracket.

MAGA Republicans never controlled the legislature during Trump's term. Neocons like Ryan, McConnell and many more all hate Trump because he would have impeded their ability to rob our government. All the rich robber barons in our government hated Trump and they still do.

And Trump signed off on all of it.

It is stupid to spend more money than is taken in. Not only stupid but disastrous, especially when the debt is already $32 trillion.

Instead of borrowing money how about reducing spending?

Just say NO to debt. Problem solved.
