If your claim is that it is the Republicans standing up for freedom (which they aren't) is it then fair for me to say the Democrats are engaging in Nazi behavior? Using your logic, that is the conclusion.

And the answer to your question should be more than obvious. We shouldn't be subjected to a virtual strip search, effective or not, and we shouldn't be blowing money we don't have on machines that won't increase security.

Considering that the 9/11/2001 attackers had that "Muslim" thing in common, I couldn't really give a rat's ass if "Muslims" allegedly take offense.

Right-wingers have been blaming Obama for the underwear bomber since Christmas, and Republican Congressmen have been right there along with them.

And they are the loudest critics, though I wouldn't say the only critics, of the x-ray scanners.

Personally I'm no fan of Islam, but I'd rather have machines that can detect explosives, knives and guns in the airports keeping me safe, than have all members of a religion banned from traveling.

And personally I'd sure as hell prefer the possibility that some random person might see my privates, than the possibility that we may have to kill a few hundred thousand more people in some other war in the middle east.

Of course I guess that's just my "chirp". Call me crazy, but I prefer a slight lack of privacy to mass murder...

If one of those machines are installed at my local airport. I think I'd opt for a patdown rather than having to go through one of those things. Never compromise; if you compromise, they're not going to take a little bit of your privacy but all of it.

I've never been touched inappropriately when I was being patted down. I can't say for others in different airports but my experience with patdowns thus far have not been bad. It's a lot better than making my naked body visible to TSA employees. A guy or a chick doing the patdown isn't going to grab your crotch or your rear; in comparison to FSBs (full-body scans) violating your privacy by making your body totally visible to TSA employees.

Yes, but an x-ray machine would also scan for plastic guns, knives, etc, etc. Hell, you could get rid of the metal detectors completely, as well as strip searches and pat downs.

It's an all around answer to the problem.

Of course I guess we could buy 6 different machines to have passengers walk through and hire 10 different people for each gate...

That is, if you want to increase government spending and increase the time we wait for a plane even more.
