Love how they are both fighting the alien and themselves

Creepy dog in the beg was great

I always liked how they tossed-in a few tidbits of humor.

It is based on a short story: Who goes there?
The first version was in the first wave of serious sci fi and had James Arness in it.
This is the second version.
There was a later version which is kind of a prequel about what happens at the Scandinavian camp before the this one.

It pales in comparison with 1982's The Thing. There is simply no horror/sci-fi that's better.....Period, end of story.

I guess a close second would be Alien.

I loved all three versions. I always felt that a sequel should have been made where they brought back the bodies of the last two station personnel to the U.S., only to have one or both of them be infected and as such, the world be in peril as humanity fights to survive.

Who can ever forget the scene where they are testing their blood in a Petri dish? Total classic movie moment.

Looks like they blew it up in the end
