"The Republican Party is losing north, south, east, west; men, woman, white, blacks..

I agree with you Newby. Give the democrats enough rope and they will hang themselves, the republicans need to stick with their base and their motto of God, Country and Liberty. And stick to their core belief of less government which means less taxes, self reliance which means more personal responsibility. Less government is the bastion of freedom.

Smaller government means more power in fewer hands.

And will the GOP this time actually stick to their motto?

Because Mark Foley/Spitzer & Larry Craig were freaks! You lost a lot of the god vote because the GOP are the pedophiles.

Colin Powell is NOT A REPUBLICAN! He fully supported & voted for BARACK OBAMA. Therefore, he can now be classified as a democrat, & about as significant to the Republican party as a mosquito is on an elephant's ass.

So listening to Powell, is kind of like listening to Chuckie Schummer on what the Republican party should do--LOL

The last time the Democrat party said the Republcian party was gravely diminished was during the Carter administration. Ronald Reagan came 4 years later & won in a 49 STATE LANDSLIDE.

Sorry--libs--but this party is not going to turn into sheep followers--nor do we typically pay more attention to "American Idol" than we do with what's going on with this country. We don't vote for good speeches read off of a teleprompter--we are the party that actually pays attention to the POLICIES of the politician--before we vote.

hey! DUmbass bobo I don't care how you read it or like it or view it.. hoping to "silence the masses" is pure communism..

Of course the Republican Party is dead. When was the last time that there were more registered Republicans than Democrats? I can't seem to remember, but I believe it's been a while. This idea that the Republican Party is dead is about as laughable as those who said the Democratic Party was dead after the Republicans gained control of Congress.

And for those of you who think we will see a new third party emerge from all of this, think again. We do not have a parliamentary form of government where coalitions can be built between parties. Splitting the Republican Party would leave the Democratic Party in control permanently, and that is exactly why it won't happen.

I predict that a movement for fiscal conservatism will take hold very soon, but probably not before 2012, and maybe not until 2016, but it is coming. Once the kids of the baby boomers start understanding what our fuckups are going to cost them in the long term, they will move very quickly from the ideological left to the fiscally conservative right.

What a joke! When Daddy Bush ran for re election, he made the exact same promises that he made the first time he ran. Guess how many of his campaign promises he kept? ZERO! And GW wasn't conservative, remember? So your last 2 presidents contradict your claim that you pay attention. You don't. You simply have been brainwashed to think liberals are evil, so really you don't pay attention at all.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says he's still a Republican, but the party needs to change and be more inclusive.

Powell is a moderate Republican who says he endorsed Democrat Barack Obama over Republican John McCain for president because he thought Obama was the better candidate.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney and radio personality Rush Limbaugh have openly mocked Powell's political leanings — questioning whether he still is in the GOP.

Powell says if the GOP doesn't reach out to more people, then the party will rest on a narrow base of supporters. Powell says that by moving to the right, the GOP risks losing right-of-center Republicans to Democratic and independent parties.

On his presidential votes, Powell describes himself as having a long, solid record of voting for Republicans. But he says he did vote for Democrats John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter.

None of what you say MATTERS: When you vote a certain party & throw all of your support behind the opposide of the isle--& vote for the democrat candidate (regardless of the r or d behind your name)--you in effect just lost your status as speaking for the REPUBLICAN party.

YOUR THEORY THAT COLIN POWELL IS A MODERATE REPUBLICAN: The Republican party picked a moderate in John McCain, & Colin Powell still voted for Barack Obama a LIBERAL democrat.

Right now Colin Powell is about as significant as a mosquito on an elephant's ass to the Republican party.:clap2:

And he is very signifigant. Even though we don't want him, he has more credibility than any other Republican. Isn't that sad?

And thank you for proving you vote blindly and don't care about results or bad decisions. Basically, if Jimmy Carter was a Republican, you would have voted him in for a second term. Because you want Powell to toe the line no matter how bad the party got. Sad. And you call me a partisan?

Can Powell come back to the GOP?

Actually, Bush lowered everyone's taxes and the wealthy actually paid a bigger portion of the pie once those tax cuts too effect. The bottom line is that all this spending will come to an end once voters demand it by electing representatives who have some principles. That means from both parties. This fiscal conservative movement will be here very soon, and it will include liberal thinkers as well. It won't be about social policies as it will be entirely about economic policies.

The democrats need to stay focused on issues that matter to all Americans, jobs, healthcare, environment, clean air, energy, and security.

That would be a refreshing change from what they're really been doing for the last thirty years.

There's one thing that both sane Republicans and sane Democrats should be able to agree upon.. neither party is really seriously about standing for what they claim to stand for.

The Republican party obviously doesn't really give a damn about free market capitalism, and the Democrats don't really give a damn about the working people of this nation, either.

They are both beholden to their masters who support them...the insiders who benefit from a government which neither supports REAL CAPITALISM, or which takes the interests of the majority of Americans into account when creating policies.

Lip service, saying the right thing, is easy as pie.

But doing those things that lead to those outcomes that they claim to be working for is entirely a different matter.

well i concur with this.....bottom line.....neither care about this country....oh sure they might throw us a bone now and then,so their diehard supporters can tell people like me and Ed and others....SEE they do care about us.....but some of us know better.....

I agree. As soon as Obama & Pelosi get America back on track, they will get fiscally conservative. Similar to Clinton.

And notice the right isn't blabbbing abotut Obama's bridges to knowhere? Because he doesn't have any. And if there is any wasteful spending, telll him and he'll take it out.

No one likes the amount of spending that is going on right now, but most Americans support Obama and are willing to give him a chance.

And I laugh everytime I hear a right winger say that we all got a tax break. HA! Bullshit!!! And that meant the rich would pay even more taxes? BFD!

Give me a billion dollars and I'll pay more taxes too. Sounds like a good deal to me.

And then I'll cry that I'm paying too much taxes. LOL.

I find it a dangerous evolution. What if the republicans become a radical right party that doesn't get the votes it needs to survive? Will the US turn into a 1-party system?

Maybe Obama is a conservative Democrat? Social programs got funded under Reagan too you know. Hell, Reagan spent like a drunk sailor. The only reason the GOP was tight wiith a buck under Clinton was because they don't like spending money on Americans in America.

You allow fiscal conservatives to double the debt in the name of defense. That's how they scam you. That's how they blow our money. But because it is on defense, you don't complain.

If Rush Limbaugh supported/liked Obama but everything else stayed the same, would that mean he wasn't a Republican?

So I just defended my response. You just won't get the point. That doesn't mean I didn't defend my response.

Just like Bush and the entire GOP. We were telling you guys for years that the GOP wasn't conservative.

And Powell actually is a conservative.

You do realize every true conservative with a brain left the GOP, right?

So why do you still belong?

WHy don't you stop with the generic terms. Conservative. How do you determine? I hope not the same way you guys determined that Clinton & Obama were liberals??? Because you were/are dead wrong.

well Bobo many true liberals with a brain left the dems long ago and became Ind.....so whats your excuse?....

Let me tell you the difference.

When Dems are in charge and corporations pay them to pass tax breaks to send jobs overseas, we call them and complain. And so they fear losing the next election and so maybe they don't fuck us.

When Republicans are in charge and the same thing happens, Republican voters defend giving corporations tax breaks for sending jobs overseas. So the Republican politicians have no problem fucking over the middle class, because their voters let them get away with shit like that.

For example, you probably bash unions I bet.

So there is no difference between the parties. It is the voters that are different. Republican voters are who suck.

Republican politicians would be for fixing healthcare and bringing jobs back home if they were important ussyes to their constituents. But you don't seen to care. You like the cheap goods you get from China. So it must not affect you. Theirfore, you feel like you are one of them. Trust me, you are voting outside of your pay grade.

You simply have been brainwashed to think liberals are evil, so really you don't pay attention at all.

this coming from a guy who is so brainwashed himself, that he thinks Conservatives are evil and are all liars.....and Bobo dont tell me im wrong ....cause in your posts you at least give me the strong impression that if a right leaner says something, its gotta be a lie,but if a left leaner says it,its no doubt the truth....there you have it....
