Some members in the group were wearing gas masks and covering their faces with ski masks. The group didn't get a permit for their march, so they were met with Portland Police officers in riot gear.

Nearly 20 minutes after the rally started, protesters attempted to block traffic on SW 3rd Avenue. Officers on bicycles moved some members of the group onto the sidewalk as police made multiple announcements, saying protesters who were blocking traffic were subject to arrest.
