There is more then one aspect of failure here and more then one reason for it. Some of it falls on government and the other on the natives.
HEALTHCARE
Now this failing truly belongs in the hands of government. It may well be the only healthcare system MORE poorly run then the VA. BOTH are standing examples of government run healthcare and that should scare you. Because it was socialist style healthcare from day one and has NOT advanced since. ANYBODY ever hear of a reservation doctor, hospital or clinic to ever make a "finding" or any other advance for that matter?
TREATMENT PROGRAMS
Another government run social program which has lead to nothing but failure time and time again. The abuse of booze AND drugs in Native American lives has INCREASED not decreased over the years and the results are seen in suicides and early mortality rates.
WELFARE
The war on poverty has NEVER been won here despite gains from gambling, booze and tobacco sales. Now as a whole government "tax payers" are NOT at fault here. Fault can be tied to the next item very directly.
EDUCATION
This problem is rooted more in the Native American community than a government program BUT government programs ARE counter productive to the need for education. The community as a whole turns out fewer high school grads then any other race group. That IS a value problem that comes from the community and IS rewarded with "free" money.
You don't need to go to Greece or Cuba or Germany to see Socialist Democrat failure. Drive through a reservation and you can see it through your car window. It IS the Socialist mommy state program in action and practice from programs to healthcare.
And those idiot democrats yell "We need to help those poor Syrians!" Dogs unlike democrats never take a dump on top of their last dump. Democrats DO and IF you agree to take in those refugees? Well for ALL moral and ethical positions YOU will be to.
