I do think one should not read too much into a special election, but if the Republicans stick their head in the sand and ignore this, they risk getting hammered next year.

The Tea Party is NOT popular right now. Here in Florida, Tea Party governor Rick Scott has an approval rating of 29%, the lowest in recorded history, whereas his negatives are 57%. Poll after poll has shown that even though people like the idea of reducing the deficit, they are decidedly against cutting specific programs that affect them.

I think the Middle Class is rising. For years they have neglected and they have not taken part of in the recovery from the 2001 recession and again not in this one.
Now it's not all the GOP's fault that companies are holding down wages despite record profits. But it seems the working class has had enough of it. And then the GOP comes out and supports Ryan's vision for Medicare and future tax cuts that more than primarily benefits the uber wealthy.
So the GOP who in the eyes of the Middle Class appears to be tools of the Fat Cats who have held down the Middle Class. Look at their actions, they speak louder than cheap words.
Maybe the GOP should start identifying the Middle Class, who the Middle Class is and why the Middle Class is becoming more and more vocal about their position in the grand scheme of things.

Jack Davis on May 21st was pulling 12%. He was getting 10% among Democrats, 13% among Republicans.

If ALL of the votes he got would have gone to the other 2 candidates, they would have been essentially split.
