The Jihad Cult: Why Young Germans Are Answering Call to Holy War.

Think a lot of the overall issue with eager young jihadis is the global community they're a part of is now so large (because of internet communications) the former sense of community is gone in real-life. So joining small fringe groups gives people a sense of belonging. In a time we don't even know our neighbors like we once did, becomming part of a group where everyone knows everyone else has a lot of appeal.

Hmmmm. Don't know about that.

There was never an integrated community between Pakistanis and Anglo Saxons in Britain. Nor with Turks in Germany. There is to this day a separation. Just visit Leeds or Bradford.

Point was we used to know our immediate community. Today we don't. Gravitating to groups where everyone does know everyone gives the lost sense of community and belonging. It's perhaps the biggest reason people have always joined cults, ever since the 60s and they were studied. Islamic groups of today are no different than 60s cults in at least this regard.
