The GOP has Palin Problem...

Its Mitt Romney's turn in 2012. Its that simple.

He's been pretty good explaining what has been going on during the recession and the financial crisis.

What is left of the GOP, known as the "base" proved in 2008 that they would NEVER allow a Mormon on the GOP ticket, even though McCain knew absolutely NOTHING about economics. Romney will not be on the ticket in 2012 unless he converts.

There are a lot of people fed up with both the Democratic and the Republican parties. Maybe Sarah Palin is one of them and is holding her cards close to her chest until she decides to make a public statement. I am fed up with both the Dems and the Repubs. I think most Americans are. Maybe a shake-up is in order. Maybe it is time for a new political party to be born? There's nothing in the rule books about it, and except for tradition, there has only been two major political parties. Maybe it's time for that to change. Time will tell about all of this. Another possibility, and one that I find interesting, is maybe Sarah Palin isn't interested in running for any political office in the future. Sometimes we are all so bent on trying to first guess everything that we don't take real statements at their face value. Regardless of what she decides to do, it will be interesting. Like her, or hate her, she has the attention of the American public. That in itself is a powerful thing.

:doubt: Hun!!!! I know i am. I voted Democrat, and got burnt, and i am not about to get fried by the other side as well.NOPE!!!! NonPartisan for me.

I would not see the republican party go down again if it meant getting more people like Ron Paul and less people like McCain in it.

Ron Paul and Sarah Palin have nothing in common.

Scratch that - one thing in common.

They're both completely unelectable.

Uh, Ron Paul is currently an ELECTED Congressman.

You have once again revealed your boundless bounty of stupidity -

I'm sorry, I thought I was talking to an adult, who would understand that I clearly meant "electable" as in "electable for President". I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough for you.

PALIN SAID THE SADAAM WAS THE CAUSE OF 9/11! Think about that. Seriously. Oh dear God, thank you for allowing the right man to be elected.

I understand where you're coming from, I really do.

But the problem with voting "non-partisan" (which really doesn't exist, in National Politics) is there's only 2 ways that it can work out. Either the candidate will lose, and lose horribly - or we will end up with a radical (on either end of the spectrum - right or left) who will cause more damage to this country that you could possibly imagine.

I don't try and claim the status quo is good - but it's better than either far end. Socialism works about as well as pure free market capitalism (which is to say, NOT AT ALL).

This form of government we have now is the worst in history - except for ALL THE OTHERS.

You mean having elected public servants who are bought and paid for by special interest groups is bad??

Of course it's bad. But the way things are now, both sides are buying politicians. Unions buy Democrats, corporations buy Republicans. There's the same amount of special interest money on either side of the spectrum, which leads to a stable average. I don't like it - but I don't see a way out of it, short of a totalitarian coup or open revolution (which would likely lead to even worse conditions). The smartest thing that the founding fathers ever designed was, at its root, partisan politics - Partisan politics meaning a situation where the minority voice always can be heard. If you go too far in either direction, you'll go over the cliff.

Palin represents the best the Republican party has to offer

Palin/Bachman 2012

Truth is that Governor Palin would have made a good VP. And during those 4 years would have learned a lot about national politics and maybe would have been a contender for 2012. But she didn't make it as VP and did not get the National exposure and experience. So is she a viable candidate for the 2012 presidential election? No way in hell.

I'm just curious - in what way would she have made a good VP?

Energetic
Young
Fresh
Conservative
Experienced
Intelligent (she is not Tina Fey)
Washington outsider
Pro Gun
What's not to like?

:( I'll tell you what not to like about her, alright!!! She gloats over slaughtering animals and shows it off to everybody. She could show a little class you know!!! but i greatly doubt that. Yes!!!! I am an animal lover and supporter.ASPCA,

LOL and this is from the Campaign that waited until Jan 2010 to figure out Obama was a Librul.

LOL

Yeah, I believe.

Oh geez. Palin is on FXN, she's not in politics. She made a bundle on her best selling book, and now she's making more money on TV. I saw Chris Matthews whining about her general knowledge deficit.

Yet she ran Alaska better than Obama is running the US. Maybe she knows management principles more than trivia. Obama & the dems will find out in 2010 and 2012 what voters want and what they don't want.

Here is something to consider, if Sarah Palin is such a pathetic figure as many would like to paint her, then she should be a non-factor then ? As I said in the other post, it's true that while she has little experience on a national stage and of course that sort of thing does show from time to time, perhaps if she does gain this experience in whatever capacity then she may hold a little more appeal. The one thing she has going for her is her ability to bring in people, and regardless of how you feel about her qualifications from a pure campaign standpoint thats a good thing to take advantage of when it comes to getting out the vote. A lot of the things said about Palin tend to be based on speculation as to her desires for 2012 and as I have said, it's a little premature to be thinking about that no matter how much many want her to run for whatever the reason. While not a fan of Palin for the top job because of her experience level, a lot of the things said about her tend to be somewhat overblown and perhaps this is because her personality lends itself to that. Maybe this is beccause a few on the left want to see Palin run more so than those on the right.

And this is what tells me that libs ARE afraid of her becoming the repub nominee.

Liberals typicaly ignore those that aren't a threat to them. But relentlessly attack those that are.

Palin seems to be one of the latter. In her own folksy, home town, regular gal way, she has moonbats twisting in frustration and apoplexy whenever she utters a word.

Sarah appears to be the spokesmouth for one of the multiple mindsets of the American people.

I find her theories on society to have all the vitality of a dead goldfish, and I think the majority agrees with that acessment, but that still means that millions and millions of Americans think she's really swell.

I think most republicans are afraid to support her because they know she will get bashed.

I think she's proven she can withstand all the bashing they can dish.. and with a hi hi ho salute,, off she goes to Fox. She can do the dems a lot of damage working behind the scenes,, she will extract her revenge..
