Controversial riders threaten Kentucky student voice bill

"A bill that would give Kentucky students a voice in selecting school system superintendents has hit a snag. On Monday, Kentucky senators tacked on two controversial amendments — one relating to which school bathrooms transgender students may use, the other protecting religious speech at school — that the students say are likely to doom their effort.

“We really do have bipartisan support, it’s just these amendments don’t have bipartisan support, and they have nothing to do with our bill,” said Eliza Jane Schaeffer, a 16-year-old junior at Henry Clay High School in Lexington."

It seems the "professionals" cannot out debate school kids.
This legislature should be ashamed of their antics.

Let's come back to this and SEE who kills it.

Dollars to donuts it will be Liberals who don't want to go on record voting against it.

The post was about "politicians" and you want to make it into some conservative vs. progressive.
Then when it just happens to come back the opposite of your prediction, are you willing to apologize?

This is that highly vaunted "compromise" that we hear about so much from liberals.

Somehow, when it's their turn to compromise, suddenly compromising sucks.

Here they get what they want, and conservatives get what they want, and everyone should be happy.

But that's not what's going to happen and we both know it.

Liberals will kill it so they don't have to go on the record voting against it.

Then, in a few days, because they know most folks aren't paying attention, the liberals will get on TV and cry "Why, oh why won't those evil Republicans compromise with us!!!" *sob*

Can you cite what you stated? Is the lack of compromising just a progressive problem, or does it venture to the other side of the isle too?
Let me cite about gun rights and the lack of compromise from the conservatives.

Liberals have been the ones whining about compromise, not conservatives.

Let me cite about gun rights and the lack of compromise from the conservatives.

Just like this. Liberals want compromise, but when they get it...like your OP where liberals want something and conservatives are willing to support it if they get something they want in return, liberals would rather kill it than vote on it.

Which was my original point exactly.
