This interesting photo was taken in 1974 at the exact moment Harold Whittles, a five-year-old boy who was born deaf hears sound for the first time. The image was captured by photographer Jack Bradley and was published in the February 1974 edition of Reader's Digest, in the article "Unforgettable Moments Caught on Film." The shocked expression on Harold's face isn't surprising. Imagine being transported from a silent world into a world of sound in an instant.

The End Of A Silent World - Harold Whittles' Story

I can't imagine the wonder of hearing for the first time. Think about him walking outside and hearing birds for the first time in his life. EVERY sound we take for granted was new and amazing to him.

They have special glasses now that can let colorblind people see color, and correct color.

There was a grandpa on Youtube that was given a pair of these glasses, and the first thing he said was "What color is that" (pointing to something in his daughters lap). She said "thats green".

He said "So THATs what green is"???

LOL
