The End Of Our Empire Approaches: History Is Clear On Where We're Headed...

History clearly shows ALL empires fail. The problem is as it relates to the USA, I believe most Americans do not know their nation has become an empire, yet the evidence is clear, abundant, and obvious.
Clear to who ? Historically ignorant morons ? Every empire in history invaded other lands for resources and colonization. The conquered indigenous population becomes 2nd class citizens or slaves and are almost never compensated for their losses. No definition of the word Empire applies to the US.
See? Most Americans have no clue their government has invaded numerous nations, purely to build an empire.
Really, how many colonist have we sent to these "conquered" lands ? Have we subjugated these "conquered" people ? Where is all the wealth and resources that should be pouring into the US from these nations ?

The idea that the US is an Empire is moronic.
The US is an EMPIRE. Accept the truth. Man up.
Provide something other than you fourth point of contact gathered opinion. I listed a number of things that prove otherwise that and the fact that the US does not act like any Empire in history.

It is not, and never has been. Face the truth.

One would have to be living under a rock or in denial, to not know the US is an empire. I suspect it is the later with you two, but you are not alone. Most Americans want to believe their government schooling about the greatest and fairness of their country, rather than the truth. Keep in mind before you call me a traitor...I love my country, but I hate it's government.

However, there are virtually thousands of articles, books, and lectures available that will alleviate you of your position, but you must be willing to accept it.

The US is an empire and has been for some time. To summarize, when you have your soldiers of fortune stationed throughout the world and a massive navy controlling the oceans, you are an empire. When you start wars of aggression based on lies and false flags to enrich yourself, as the US is notorious for, you are an empire. When you conquer nations and never leave, you are an empire. When your defense budget (really war making budget) exceeds the combined total of nearly the rest of world, you are an empire.

It is not just military imperialism that makes the US an empire. Cultural and economic imperialism also apply.

Here is a good column that might help. .

The Modern American Empire Politics Essay
The Modern American Empire Politics Essay
The United States is often referred to as the 'American Empire' in relationship with imperialism. The term imperialism is used to describe the expansion of dominance and power of a nation by the means of direct geographical acquisition or by indirect control of political matters over weaker territories (Rajeev, 2011).In a broader perspective with respect to the American Empire, it is the power, authority, and influence that the US imposes on its neighbouring countries. American imperialism encompasses the aspects of economic imperialism, cultural imperialism, and military imperialism (Rajeev, 2011). Without a doubt, this powerful industrialized nation has gained imperialist power on a global scale influencing the world today.

In conclusion, the United States has always been viewed as an imperialist power, whether it is formally or informally conducted. Formally in the sense of geographical acquisition as seen by military imperialism in which the United States invaded Iraq for oil or informally by selling the American principles worldwide through U.S. products. American imperialism has occurred in various methods, during various periods of time in various regions of the world. On a global scale, America is known as imperialistic, out-dominating its predecessors - the Japanese, British and Soviet empire which now has little existence in the 21st century (Mann, 2008). It is impossible to predict the fate of the modern American empire, but seeing the cultural, economic, political, and military dominance it has over its peripheral nations, it is safe to say that globalization has led to America as an imperialist power.

Anarchism is the easy refuge of infantile weakness of mind. It is the fallback position of ignorant fools who lack the capacity to think about things in a mature, educated manner. The United States is not now nor has it ever been an empire. Words actually do have meanings. Simple insistence does not change semantics because it fits someone’s Histrionics.

Anyone who says I love America but hate its government does not understand either.

Yeah...you and Mussolini have much in common, but only if the state does not imprison Japanese Americans.

"Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state".

To say nothing of the tyrannical and illegal actions taken at home by empires, as further evidence the US is an empire.

Do not believe your eyes...believe Uncle Sam.

Illogical and meaningless.

Excellent observation. Thanks.

Using the word, "Empire" with the United States is slanderous, false, and ignorant.

The U.S. has NEVER sought to create or maintain an empire. To those who claim we have, what countries are under our control? Name them.

Compare our history with the British imperial period. Compare with what the Europeans did and tried to do in Africa and Southeast Asia. In fact, there IS NO comparison.

When have we ever invaded a foreign country or declared war on a country, FOR OUR OWN BENEFIT? Never.

We've waged war against numerous countries solely FOR OUR OWN BENEFIT. To believe otherwise, is incredibly ignorant and naive. It's all about getting the Puppet Regimes in there, and plundering resources. It's what all Empires have done all throughout history. The US is no different.

No other nation on earth has invaded more countries and killed more people than the US has in the last 70yrs or so. No other nation even comes close. But sadly, most Americans have been duped by a corrupt Government/Corporate Media that consistently tells them they're the 'Good Guys.' That of course isn't reality though. It's just Empire propaganda. All Empires in history saw themselves as the 'Good Guys.'

Many Americans can’t accept the truth about their empire nation.

Few Americans know the truth about their nation and few will accept it.

Millions slaughtered in North Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. Add in the many other smaller imperial invasions, and you have a really big number.

Can’t “accept” your emo-interpretation? Imagine that.

They've been bombarded with 'We're the Good Guys' Government/Corporate Media propaganda since early childhood. They truly believe all the invading and killing is justified. Like i said, all Empires all throughout history claimed to be the 'Good Guys.' It's a way to justify all the killing.

The numbers are shocking. No other nation on earth comes close to the US in terms of invading and killing. For example, a nation like Iran, which is a new US 'Boogeyman', hasn't invaded a nation in hundreds of years. Russia and China don't hold a candle to the US either. All Americans have to do is go and research wars the last 70yrs or so. The US has been invading and killing all throughout.

Americans know full well the slaughters committed by Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Communist China, Pol Pot's Cambodia...but somehow they are completely unaware of their own government's many murderous actions. We are all indoctrinated in the government schools. Some of us overcome the indoctrination but others never do, and they consider us TRAITORS.

Just a little research will show them that their Government has been invading and butchering more than any other nation on earth, in the last 70-75yrs. It's appalling.

ok--now you are out of there
..we did nothing like these other countries
...were there lone wolves/etc--sure---but not a US policy like these countries had
...Korea and Vietnam were also different--the US was not trying to take over a country
..Pol Pot had ''everybody'' leave the cities/etc
..the US did NOT invade these countries mentioned for occupation only--
..remember Saddam STARTED the war!! [ 2 wars to be exact ]
...North Korea STARTED the war
..the US was trying to stabilize South Vietnam--they did not invade
