The 'Ebola President': Pentagon Defends Decision To Isolate Troops...

g5000, known idiot, let's take a little logic problem.

Explain the differences in the following:

Medical and media persons working with and near Ebola patients, no or voluntary quarantine.

Military personnel working with or near Ebola patients, mandatory quarantine (in most cases outside the US).

Foreign nationals flying into the US, a health screen at the airport, no quarantine.
The military personnel shouldn't be quarantined.
The military personnel shouldn't be in africa.
Why? As has been pointed out earlier in this thread, they aren't treating any Ebola infected persons and the US military has completed numerous humanitarian reliefs missions in the past.

Our military doesn't exist to perform "humanitarian relief" missions.
Where was your outrage when Bush sent over 12,000 members of the military to perform humanitarian relief after the 2004 tsunami?

So when does it become a military mission to you?
Do we need 1 million infected, or 1 billion? In your great wisdom, it does not make sense to stop it in its tracks before it becomes something worse? On one hand, you want anyone who travels within 1000 miles of one of these West African countries to be quarantined for 21 days, but you don't think we should be doing anything to fight the spread of this disease. How do people become so stupid?

Oh..I see...it is so dangerous that we must immediately send troops to africa to (somehow) stop the spread of this horrifically deadly disease....

...but on the other hand it isn't dangerous enough that we have to close our borders or have mandatory quarantines of people who have been in hot zones or exposed to the disease.

Careful with all that twisting and flip flopping..you might pull a muscle.

people who have been in a tsunami aren't vectors for deadly hemorrhagic diseases with fatality rates of up to 70%.

According to the EXPERTS, isolating a country would be counterproductive. It would actually increase the chances of a worldwide pandemic.

It is better to take the fight there than wait for it to come here. Which it inevitably would, big time, if you tried to isolate the countries which are currently affected.

Clearly, you're as big a dumbass as your President is. Our Soldiers don't sign up to fight Ebola. It's absurd

They sign up to defend our country and to follow orders.

BTW ever heard of biological warfare or the USAMRIID?

So much fear, so little brain matter.

The FDA has issued the following public advisory.

Symptoms of Ebolysteria:

1. Sudden bouts of irrational panic.

2. Fevered and delusional thinking.

3. Shit for brains.

4. Shit in pants.

5. Bullshit in mouth.

If you or anyone you know is displaying one or more of these symptoms, quarantine them and report to a course in Logic or Critical Thinking immediately.

WARNING: Fox News is a known vector of Ebolysteria. Other vectors may include Breitbart, EIB Network, infowars, CNS News, The Washington Times, Newsmax, and investors.com. If you have a weakened intellectual system, avoid contact with these potential sources of Ebolysteria. A strong correlation has also been found between Ebolysteria and Obama Derangement Syndrome. You are making the completely bone headed assumption that stopping commercial travel to and from those countries would stop aid to them. You are incorrect.

so much for the RW "better there than here" mantra huh?

You can catch Ebolysteria just from talking or listening to someone with Ebolysteria if your intellectual system is not immunized with critical thinking skills. Watch out!

Your "logic" (BWA-HA-HA!) exercise is based on false premises.

There are several levels of protocols for medical personnel returning from working with Ebola patients. These protocols were established by medical experts and not the media talking heads whose piss you drink.

Military personnel have always been subject to the whims of politicians regardless of what the greater society is doing, or what the experts say. And so if the fearmongering assholes think our soldiers should be mandatory quarantined, then they will be.

Also, a soldier is not a medical expert, and thus cannot be relied upon to follow the medical protocols the way a doctor or nurse would, and so it would be prudent to quarantine them and place them under the supervision of medical experts.

"Foreign nationals flying into the US" is a huge category. You will have to be more specific.

The fact is, not one single American citizen outside of a hospital medical staff has been infected with Ebola. Your Ebolysteria is far, far from "logical".

France and Germany. See above.
