The UK!

Hmmmm. How is that possible when it has such a large Muslim population now?

It’s a big world and there’s a lot of drinking going on, but the citizen’s of one country are getting drunk more than the citizens of any other country. The winner (?) of this dubious distinction is the United Kingdom.

British people are getting drunk more often than any other nation in the world, and not just tipsy but completely intoxicated. This is according to the 2019 Global Drug Survey published Thursday which analyzed the behavior of 123,814 people from 36 countries.

On average, respondents said they got drunk 33 times in the last 12 months with drinkers from the UK reporting being drunk 51 times in last year. The U.S. was not far behind, with respondents claiming to have been intoxicated 50 times in the last year, followed by Canada's drinkers who overindulged 48 times in the last year and Australia's respondents who got drunk 47 times.

Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the spectrum, people in Chile reported getting drunk just 16 times a year while in Germany and Colombia respondents indulged 33 times in the last year.

I’m pretty sure a number of British Muslims contributed to this lofty status for the UK.

Some Muslims drink behind closed doors. Often when they visit other countries they drink to excess. Just because you are Muslim doesn't mean you don't drink. Some of them are liars, and hypocrites.

The Russians wont be happy about this.Half of Moscow is on the lash at 10 in the morning with Grannies necking down vodka straight from the bottle.

If you count at whole week - Russia lose... If we could count only weekend - offcourse, Russia! With a vodka at Saturday morning from bottleneck somewhere at fishing camp :))

The traders in our London office used to brag that they would stay in the office much later than those of us in the NY office (who usually buggered off right at 5pm).

The reason the Brits stayed in the office so long is that after all the drinking they do at lunch, they weren't sober enough to drive home until 8pm.

Last two decades it was "good usual tradition" to drink in offices in Russia.. But last years it seems not so good, because people prefer drunk after work,.more and more... :) So, why not - nature or bar is more wonderful place to dring, than office! :)
