American Progressives view NoKo as a true world citizen: no drain on natural resources, no carbon foot print, it makes them overcome with joy that will be our future if Obama is reelected and wins back Congress

You mean a fanatical totalitarian regime and capitalism.

Get your terms straight.

If you ever leave Mom's basement, go visit some nearby stores and offices and talk to the owners. My guess is none of them are armed and robbing their customers

actually, if you ever get off the 'net long enough to call a sm biz like me, you'll find our brand of capitalism plays by the rules, instead of lobbying for federal socialism

but explaining to you these differences , or what are philosophies way over your head is simply an exercise in futility

because a real capitalist is out shakin' the tree, instead of spending all day here pissin' on it like you Frank

Actually..this is what American Conservatives want America to look like. A very small monied elite, a frightened and compliant populace, a big bad bogeyman ready to strike them from the outside, and unbridled military spending.

I have my terms exactly correct. North Korea is a socialist country - the government controls the means of prodcution and distribution.

North Korea is not a Socialist state.

In terms of ideals, very true. Everything a socialist wants, North Korea is not. A backwards xenophobic monarchy where the royal family and a few selected families get everything and the rest of the nation exists to provide them with comforts.

It is also, however, a place where you have the ultimate socialist form of rule, the nation controls all the resources and means of production.

But it does seem more of a throwback to the Korean monarchy of the 1850s than any kind of modern state at all.

Bullshiit - you're dancing around the issue. Once again - listening Sparky? - socialism is state control of the means of production and distribution. North Korea is a socialist state. And your implication that socialism is "modern" is a real gut-buster. :lmao:

Go back and reread the post. He wasn't disagreeing with you, he was just pointing out that NK is not exactly the poster child for your typical socialist's desires in a state.

Oh yes, i listen more than speak, and when i DO speak i post font for the hearing impared............anywho, Here's the wiki definiton for you>

Socialism is an economic system in which the means of production are publicly or commonly owned and controlled co-operatively, or a political philosophy advocating such a system.

Socialism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

now this might be the interesting part of the debate where definitoons and concepts might clash a tad, being that the definiton posted above does not utilize the term 'state' as you did

of course, we could interpet 'publicly or commonly owned' as being the state, yet conversley interpet it as shareholder

go ahead, let the grey matter churn & get back to me....
