How about Ted Turner's public and not very flattering comments about the Pope and the Catholic Church? How about the insulting comments made by then Surgeon General Jocelyn Elders that "the Catholic Church should get over its love affair with the fetus?". I don't think even one bandaid was needed after those comments.
Then of course, there is the oft repeated and repeated line about pedophile priests. Nevermind that the number of offenders make up way less than 1% of the total priests in the United States (yet, for some odd reason, we never hear about pedophile social workers, teachers, psychologists and psychiatrists which have molested far more children that all those priests put together). Again, not a single person killed, probably more blood is shed when I cut myself shaving than was spilled over those comments.
But oh boy, don't even think about insulting those Moslems and their faith! Why? Don't we worship the same God? Why is the Left so incensed when Allah is insulted and mocked but not Yahweh?
I'll tell you why flushing the Koran incites such sanctimonious outrage among the liberal elite. It's not about the Koran or God or defending any sort of faith. It's all about the Left using any pretense at all, even religion, which they so detest, hate and despise, to attack what America and Christianity stand for. If the truth be told the Left thinks, but won't admit, that those Moslems are nothing but a bunch of ignorant backward brown types in need of the enlightenment of the Left and their gods, Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin. It's like the White Man's Burden revived and updated but without the racist overtones.
The Left isn't for liberty, it's for license. The irresponsible squandering of liberties that valiant patriots fought and died for. They aren't for freedom, but for slavery, the slavery of immorality. Consequences? That's a construct of the bougouis capitalists to keep the masses sexually repressed and oppressed! And damn the torpedoes, who cares who gets hurt, as long as the Left and those who belong to it look good, that's all that matters.
And these idiot journalists, wrap themselves in self righteousness and the Constitution. How DARE the White House question the journalistic standards of Newsweek! How DARE the White House criticize the High Priests! Why, why.... that's.... that's BLASPHAMY... is what it is! And then when they apologize, they do it in such a way that it isn't an apology and they make it sound like it's all Bush's fault.

Hush Rush Redux
The left, specifically moveon.org and a handful of Republicans, apparently including former Senate majority leader Trent Lott, are attempting to increase government regulation of the news media.
Part of the effort includes a reinstatement of the so-called "Fairness Doctrine," which puts so much red tape on broadcasters who express on-air opinions that the modern-day talk radio industry could well be crippled if the doctrine is reimposed.

In addition, Grover Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform has a website dedicated to stopping reimposition of the fairness doctrine.
A few years ago the left launched another attack on talk radio in the form of the innocent-sounding "Lobbying Disclosure Act," which could have been used to force talk radio hosts and in some cases listeners to register with the federal government as "lobbyists" if they expressed an opinion on a bill before Congress. We learned about this from Rep. Tom DeLay, who now is the House Majority Leader, and, using what was then the latest in communications technology, faxes, alerted hundreds of talk show hosts. They informed their listeners, and the Capitol switchboard was flooded with calls. That bill was not approved.

Their plan to do it was to use Communism. They decided the ends do justify the means, and that everything is ok even if some pretenses they would use were false.
People started getting bored again, so just to further their plot they went to a graveyard and dug up all the dead veterans, and scattered their bones chanting that god and liberty are dead and they must impose a new order. Then they burned down the church the graveyard was at, and the local VFW right next door, just to prove their point even further.
Yes, I infiltrated their ranks, and I'm back here to report on how liberals really are.
