This thread is to settle the Czar debate once and for all.

The first President to really have Czars was FDR. He had 12 Czar Jobs and 18 appointees. Over the years, every single President has had at least one. Nixon had the most since Harry Truman with 2 Czar Jobs and 4 appointees.

Bill Clinton had 6 Czar Jobs and 9 appointees.

Barack Obama has currently Thirty Two (32) Czar Jobs and 34 appointees.

But what about Dubya?

He had THIRTY FIVE CZAR JOBS (35) and FORTY FIVE (45) appointees. My question is the following:

Where was the outrage when Bush was in office? Where was Glenn Beck? He wasn't crying on television about how the Republicans were trying to conquer this country with Socialism or Facism or whatever.

The List of Czars under President George W. Bush and their years:

Okay Republicans, where's your outrage. Waiting for it. Waiting for it. Still waiting. :eusa_whistle:

Just because other Presidents have had Czars doesn't mean it's right or constitutional.

Did I say it was right or constitutional? If you think I did, you missed the entire point of my thread. Where was the Republican outrage during the last eight years? Nonexistent, that's what.

There should be no czars at all, by any president. They are not confirmed, they answer to no one but the president, there are no checks and balances. It's too easy for too few to have too much power.

If Obama were 'the president of change' he claims to be, why doesn't he change this and vet/confirm these people?

Oh, I see, because Bush did it now it's OK.

Another person who missed my entire point of the thread. Where is the outrage that Bush did it? All I see is people being at most apathetic to the fact he had Czars. Yet all I hear is bitching about Obama's czars.

The fact that Bush had more Czars seemed not even known to the majority of people on this board as I've never heard any bitching about his Czars. That, or they didn't care.

So because Republicans had Czars Obama should be allowed to have Czars?

The fact that Bush ignored the Constitution isn't lost on anyone here, I don't think. However, Bush isn't the President. Barack Obama is the President and his Czars are unconstitutional. Whether you point that out for partisan reasons or not, it's still true.

Dive, maybe I could be like you and just say you're wrong! However, here is the link:

List of U.S. executive branch czars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

List of names and all. Plus links and citations.

All of you who think I believe this is okay are wrong. I'm simply saying your outrage during the Bush Administration for this was nonexistent yet it is now wrong since Obama is in office. Show me one to three threads where anyone on this board is speaking out against Bush's Czars. Go ahead.

Go ahead.
