The current economic crisis we are in is not the result of 1 single person so to put all the blame on Obama is naive and shortsided, it is the result of at least 30 years of bad dealings, from Jimmy Carter to the Reagan years of the ill conceived concept of Reaganomics, aka trickle down economics aka voodoo economics( that NEVER worked and will never work) to 12 years of bush(sr. and jr.) in office to bad mistakes during the Clinton years. I don't think that when our fore fathers created this country and came up with free trade capitalism that they expected it to turn into the greedy corrupt power hungry problem that it is today. Obama just happens to be in office when things are at there worst so I can see how it would be easiest to put all the blame on him, he is the scapegoat for many years of corruption that is coming back to bite us. I am not saying that he is some great messiah that will save us all, in fact he is far from it but he is doing what he can to right some of the wrongs but it has gotten to the point that the only thing to fix it is to go the really radical route, something that has been in the wings waiting for generations, it wont be easy and alot will fear it but it has to be done and if that IT is going in the direction of socialism then so be it, we can't stay on the course we are taking now because if we do the most powerful country in the world is headed for extinction and collapse. I personally don't fear the idea of this country becoming even some what socialistic because I dont fear what true socialism is...what it is not is the idea of some totalitarian dictatorship that has been burned into the brains of many for at least 60 years, it is not what Stalin and Lenin did thats for sure, I dont fall for that fear mongering belief. Some will say that I am naive and young, I am 35 years old and believe I have a fairly good view of the world. Agree or disagree with me I dont care but this had to be said.

Socialism is not mere government ownership, a welfare state, or a repressive bureaucracy. Socialism is a new social and economic order in which workers and consumers control production and community residents control their neighborhoods, homes, and schools. The production of society is used for the benefit of all humanity, not for the private profit of a few. Socialism produces a constantly renewed future by not plundering the resources of the earth.
Under capitalist and "Communist" states, people have little control over fundamental areas of their lives. The capitalist system forces workers to sell their abilities and skills to the few who own the workplaces, profit from these workers' labor, and use the government to maintain their privileged position. Under "Communist" states, decisions are made by Communist Party officials, the bureaucracy and the military. The inevitable product of each system is a class society with gross inequality of privileges, a draining of the productive wealth and goods of the society into military purposes, environmental pollution, and war in which workers are compelled to fight other workers.
People across the world need to cast off the systems which oppress them, and build a new world fit for all humanity. Democratic revolutions are needed to dissolve the power now exercised by the few who control great wealth and the government. By revolution we mean a radical and fundamental change in the structure and quality of economic, political, and personal relations. The building of socialism requires widespread understanding and participation, and will not be achieved by an elite working "on behalf of" the people. The working class is in a key and central position to fight back against the ruling capitalist class and its power. The working class is the major force worldwide that can lead the way to a socialist future – to a real radical democracy from below.
