Ummmm ... er ... the "illegal" part of illegal immigrant is working ... Mexicans are allowed into the USA, mostly anytime they want ... they just can't work here ... and there's time limits as to when they need to cross back into Mexico ... (a few weeks?) ...

Employers paying "under the table" to these people is a different issue ... I'm addressing the problem of illegal immigrants using bogus ID and SS cards ... where the employer performs due diligence making sure the person is lawful to work in the USA ...

So the employer is taking payroll taxes out of the illegal immigrant's paycheck ... including unemployment insurance ... are you suggesting we steal that money from the worker? ... that's such a Red State thing to do ... banks are cashing these payroll checks ... maybe that's the problem instead ...

Relatively speaking, the $2 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to the $31 billion paid to scammers back in 2021. But that's not the point. If it's illegal to come here and it's illegal to work here, how the hell can it be legal to claim unemployment. These idiots in Sacramento.
