The Broken Congress. Who is truly responsible.

As a Democrat, I agree that Harry Reid is responsible for the disfunctional Senate

His weak leadership has allowed a body that has a 55-45 advantage to be bullied by the minority Republicans. As soon as Republicans broke their promise to restrain the use of filibuster, Reid should have abolished the archaic tradition.

A Republican minority used gerrymandering to take control of the House and a weak Senate Majority leader allows a 45% minority to block action in the Senate

291 House bills stuck in the Senate.......thanks to Senator Palpatine Reid, the subhuman roadblock.

Bills Passed by the House

Find me a list of 291 Senate bills waiting on Boehner.

How many of those are bills to repeal ObamaCare? Around 40 by now, isn't it?

How many others are similar gigantic wastes of time?

Why is Boehner blocking immigration reform?

Because the Democrats won't pass a Border Security Bill and no one Trusts Obama to secure the borders or follow the law anyway. He's refused to do so so far.
Exactly....actually Boehner IS doing his job since his job is to STOP Obama from allowing the illegals from getting a free ride off the backs of We the People.

Just seeing what's going on at the border has already prompted many to reconsider immigration reform. It's very sad in so many ways....

ROFLMAO...

And What were you saying when the Democrats did the same thing?

I am perfectly willing to end the filibuster right now and forever

Are you?

Here's a list which claims there are 291 bills stuck in the Senate: Bills Passed by the House

Here are some of those bills:

https://cosponsor.gov/details/hr444-113
To require that, if the President's fiscal year 2014 budget does not achieve balance in a fiscal year covered by such budget, the President shall submit a supplemental unified budget by April 1, 2013, which identifies a fiscal year in which balance is achieved, and for other purposes.

Notice the date. This was a bill passed in the House 17 months ago. It is plainly obsolete. Continuing resolutions have been passed in the House and Senate, rendering this bill completely unnecessary and obsolete.

Why is it still being counted as Reid obstructionism? Bogus!

If you go down the list, you find a great number of such bills which are obsolete.

Look at this one: https://cosponsor.gov/details/hr3350-113

To authorize health insurance issuers to continue to offer for sale current individual health insurance coverage in satisfaction of the minimum essential health insurance coverage requirement, and for other purposes.

As we all know, health insurers have received a two year extension for selling policies which do not meet the ACA minimum standards. Many such bills die this way due to redundancy.

https://cosponsor.gov/details/hr1797-113

To amend title 18, United States Code, to protect pain-capable unborn children, and for other purposes.

This is a ban on abortions beyond 20 weeks except in cases of rape, incest, or endangerment to the life of the mother.

https://cosponsor.gov/details/hr2231-113
To amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to increase energy exploration and production on the Outer Continental Shelf, provide for equitable revenue sharing for all coastal States, implement the reorganization of the functions of the former Minerals Management Service into distinct and separate agencies, and for other purposes.

Drill, baby, drill!

https://cosponsor.gov/details/hr4899-113

Love the title: LOWERING GASOLINE PRICES TO FUEL AN AMERICA THAT WORKS ACT OF 2014

To lower gasoline prices for the American family by increasing domestic onshore and offshore energy exploration and production, to streamline and improve onshore and offshore energy permitting and administration, and for other purposes.

Drill, baby, drill!

This one was just passed a couple weeks ago.

https://cosponsor.gov/details/hr2754-113
To amend the Hobby Protection Act to make unlawful the provision of assistance or support in violation of that Act, and for other purposes.

How many "Kill Obamacare" bills are included?

Harry Reid owns a great deal of responsibility but even he could not have been possible without a broken people. It isn't congress that's broken so much as it is reflecting the people who are really really broken.

The GOP blocks what it doesn't want to work on (immigration reform, ObamaCare, etc.), and the Democrats block what they don't want to work on.

This is probably the least cooperative Congress I have seen in my lifetime.

Reagan had that problem.

So did Bill Clinton.

It is up to the president to find areas of compromise.

Not the representatives who were elected by their constituents to represent the wants of their constituents.

How is he doing with that?

291 House bills stuck in the Senate

List, please.

Click the link I provided moron.......or do you need interwebs lessons?

It did not show as a link when I viewed your post. But I found the same page and have deconstructed a great deal of that 291 figure in a subsequent post.

Did you just look at the number and not examine the list critically? Thought so.

Are you illiterate? If you check the first bill on the list, it dates to 01/04/2013 and moves to present day. They are all the bills passed by the house since then that Harry Reid has prevented being taken up for debate or a vote in the senate. The age is immaterial to whether Reid is an obstructionist or not. He doesn't get to expunge his record because the calendar rolled over to a new year. What is he afraid of.......that some of the Dems in the Dem controlled Senate might vote for some of them? Gad! We can't have Congress actually doing anything or putting Dear Ruler in a position of having to veto something the American people actually want and their representatives codified into law. Heaven forbid!

Look, I understand that as partisan hack liberals, you and Palpatine don't like some of the bills coming from the House. But that and $4.50 will get you a cup of joe at Starbucks. It doesn't count for squat in determining if they should get up and down votes in the Senate.

Perhaps Harry could get the House to move on immigration reform if he would allow some of thos 291 bills to see the light of day. Think about it.

Admit it...

What you did was post the few you can criticize.

But there are 291 one of them.

You are a dishonest poster.

And you are a liar when you claim to be retired military....proven by your lack of knowledge of the military.

In other words....you are nothing but a fucking fraud.

291 bills. Why don't you open the link, sort thru them and report back to the class how few there are and then explain why Palpatine feels justified in keeping Congress from working for the American people?

Why yes, yes it did show the link. If it didn't you would see an edit to the post where I added it later. You deconstructed nothing. You criticized bills that you find personally not to your liking. BFD. That doesn't mean that a bill passed in the house should not be taken up in the senate. If it is so bad, the senate will kill it in an up or down vote. Harry seems to fear doing that. Why? Is he afraid of letting Congress represent the will of the people? Congress sits and spins on Harry Reid's thumb.

My message to my two senators and congressman: Block, delay, obstruct, filibuster... do whatever you have to do to STOP this destructive agenda of Barry's. The first two years when there was a Democratic super majority, we got Obamacare. Enough said.

I used to think Barry was just an amateur and had no idea how to govern. I'm afraid that I am changing my mind from amateur to purposefully destructive.

Whats wrong with that?

Polls show the majority of Americans do not favor the ACA.
Numbers show the president was wrong when he promised it would be deficit neutral.
Rates for those that do not get tax payer subsidies have increased at a much greater rate than promised.
There is an issue in being able to confirm data as it pertains to those that warrant a subsidy.
The IRS has its own "data" issues and they are the ones who are to handle the ACA.

SO is it wrong for congress to want to repeal a law that is not working as expected?
