One person.

Harry Reid.

It's not that phantom boogeyman of the left, the "Tea Party". They don't have control of the legislative process.

Harry Reid does.

Harry's rules: Reid dominates crippled Congress - Washington Times

Harry Reid is one of 100 senators, but so far in 2014, he’s been responsible for one-third of all the amendments proposed on the Senate floor — a number that underscores just how much one man has come to dominate the legislative process.

::::::::

His control has been of incalculable benefit to both Mr. Obama, who is able to avoid embarrassing legislative rebukes, and to Senate Democrats, who are sometimes able to avoid having to take tough votes that could cost them the support of voters back home.

:::::::

Since the beginning of this year, Republicans have been granted roll-call votes on just seven amendments, or an average of one per month. Democrats are doing even worse, at just five.

By contrast, in the House, where the minority is supposed to be at an even bigger disadvantage, there have been roll-call votes on 163 amendments, and a majority of those have been on proposals from Democrats.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Texas Democrat, has had roll-call votes on nine of her amendments — or more than all 45 Senate Republicans combined. She did lose every one of those votes

The system.

Because of a system that no one seems to want to change, these professional politicians are far more preoccupied with fundraising and re-election than with anything else. They are under the influence of something other than the best interests of those they represent.

But, no one appears to be interested in fixing the system.

Thus, WE are responsible for this.

So, tough shit.

I'd definitely say it's the direction both parties are heading to. The right and the left are moving further and further away from the center. The further away they move from each other the further they move from Compromise Land and the closer they get to Total Polarization Land.
The end result is absolutely nothing gets done. Who suffers? The United States of America.

And then there's this ^^^^^^^ Another reason that is right on the money (pardon the pun)

Why so much Reid Derangment Syndrome? Because he continues to pummel the GOP.

For example, recent confirmations. This one is a circuit court judge, one step below the Supreme Court, so it's a big deal. Reid got those confirmations moving again. That means courts (other than the SC) are no longer stacked with judicial activist Republican majorities. Republicans now need voters instead of courts to advance their unpopular agendas, and they can't get voters, so they're screwed. Hence the rage at Reid.

Kitten, I live in Nevada and I can assure you all Harry Reid does is embarrass himself. He does not have a whole lot of respect here.

The better question is when did Harry get so deranged?

Only Harry Reid blocks legislation. John Boehner NEVER does that.

291 House bills stuck in the Senate.......thanks to Senator Palpatine Reid, the subhuman roadblock.

Bills Passed by the House

Find me a list of 291 Senate bills waiting on Boehner.

How many of those are bills to repeal ObamaCare? Around 40 by now, isn't it?

How many others are similar gigantic wastes of time?

Why is Boehner blocking immigration reform?

Because the Democrats won't pass a Border Security Bill and no one Trusts Obama to secure the borders or follow the law anyway. He's refused to do so so far.

Let's say you are right about the 40. Now how do you excuse the other 251? The House are Representatives of the US citizens. Their job is to represent them. They are doing so and constantly writing and passing bills that represent the people. Harry Reid is saying "screw you" to the people. You can deny this, but it would make you a liar. Look, there is plenty of blame to go around, but Harry Reid is a one man wrecking crew and THE reason that nothing gets done in Congress. His personal feelings about the worth of a bill doesn't mean squat. He isn't a king, but he acts like one.

I see you have little knowledge of what is really happening.

There are over 50 jobs bills that are sitting in the senate. You may consider them a waste of time because you don't think they will work.....but that does not mean they are a waste of time nor does it mean they wont work.

You see, you fucking make believe retired military liar, just because a President and a senate majority leader does not agree with the congress, does not mean the congress is doing nothing.

It simply means the president is not willing to compromise.

His way or the highway.

And then?

He blames Americans suffering on a congress who does plenty....but not the way he wants it.

Why is Boehner blocking immigration reform?

Because Reid refuses to address border security.

SO to reform immigration with open doors will result in an influx of undocumented immigrants that we are not prepared to handle

Why wont Reid and Obama address border security?
