That's My Democrats For Ya! :)

1. It's just not the liberals who are responsible, there's plenty of blame to go around. What we need are more people in congress like Peter Schiff, Rand Paul, Ron Paul.

Add John Hostettler to the list, but I don't think he's running for IN Senate seat, sadly. :(

Maybe he could primary Lugar in 2012...

Most legal documents are difficult to read, but if a politician doesn't have the ability to decipher it then how the fuck can they vote on something they don't understand? Seriously!

The draft version is written in plain language, then worked into legal language. This is nothing more than another stall tactic by the GOP.

*sigh* more partisan foolishness, most of the politicians have aides and subject matter experts read the bills. do you expect elected people to be masters of everything?

also, do you think everyone read teh patriot act, fisa rewriting, etc before voting? more partisan outrage by R(etards)

The people that voted no on it. If your reps didn't read it they should be voted out.

Is there a movement on or something that people believe Congressmen should do their job? Tell me you're kidding!

Make these fricken morons use this doomed healthcare program they are forcing upon the citizens of the United States. I bet then they would read it and understand how bad this healthcare program is.
I'd like to know more about it...can you quote from the actual bill which parts you take exception to?

What was that Plato Quote?

Something about if you refuse to participate in politics your end up being governed by your inferiors.

"The penalty for not participating in politics is to be governed by your inferiors". Good quote.

I would have thought that this would be a bipartisan issue - that we could all agree that our politicians should understand what they are signing BEFORE they sign it.

And yet, some choose to whine on about who signed what previously and whether they read and understood it.

Instead, we should draw a line in the sand and say "This far and no further".... What happened up until today, we cannot change. We can change what happens from here on and that is what is important.

Personally, I think we should treat Congress like a virus. Quarantine it - NOTHING IN AND NOTHING OUT - No elections, no bills, no nothing - until we have eliminated the disease of corruption and partisanship that infects it.

It is a bi-partisan issue...just not for some on here...;)

When asked if Republican members of the committee should have a chance to read the full text of the bill if they believe they are capable of understanding it, Carper suggested Republicans would only pretend to understand the bill when in fact they would not understand it.

“They might say that they’re reading it. They might say that they’re understanding it,” said Carper. “But that would probably be the triumph of man’s hope over experience. It’s hard stuff to understand.”

Carper said if Americans were given the chance to read the actual text of the bill he believes they would decide that it made little sense for either them—or members of Congress—to read such texts because of the difficulty in understanding them.

“I think if people had the chance to read that they’ll say you know maybe it doesn’t make much sense for either the legislators or me to read that kind of arcane language,” said Carper. “It’s just hard to decipher what it really means.”
And yet we have so many that think they have it all figured out...
