We read all this hype about brave Gov. Perry sending National Guard troops to “seal the border.” Well, this article puts it in perspective and shows just what a sham this really is.

The NG will have no power to detain or return anybody back across the border!

My price just went up.

To secure the Mexican border it is now $50 trillion for the first 10 years, and $5 trillion for every year after.

It was never about "securing the border". It was about, "Securing the presidential nomination at the taxpayer's expense".

I've heard that the idea is that the sight of NG on the border is to slow down / stop the flow just because of seeing the NG on the border . If that works then its ok by me . Once again , I think that there are roadblocks called laws that forbid any real practical action by the states .

That was known immediately. It is a symbolic action only, though he is hoping it will deter those from Central America, to stay there. If the presence works, even somewhat, then it will justify the expense of sending the NG in.

and if PERRY sending NG slows or helps then maybe other border states will follow his lead and example .

Which is the R way of doing things.

Tax, tax, tax, spend, spend, spend and get nothing in return.

Of course not.

They never had the authority to begin with.

And you and others on the right were ignorant to believe otherwise.

It just means they will get spotted quicker and not have to wait as long out in the hot sun or chilly night for the border patrol to come pick them up. In addition the guard will offer some semblance of security as they wait to get picked up. Hell, some of those NG will carry cookies and juice to work with them. They might even set up a tent with snacks and beverages and formalize their good will and humane nature.
