Ten myth busting facts about welfare

what would you do if you Only didn't have to work for money?

I would do what they did in the old days. Barter. I have a few hundred head of cattle, a dozen horses and many acres of fine hunting land.
Ok; then, let's add some metrics to our simple model; what if you could apply for unemployment compensation that clears our poverty guidelines on an at-will basis in our at-will employment States, as an alternative to competing for a prevailing, market based wage.

How much easier would it be, if you could have the convenience of a medium of exchange and not have to compete for a prevailing market based wage, if the opportunity cost could be, going to school, learning a new and more marketable vocation, or simply pursuing Happiness until you feel the need to earn more lucre.

I would never seek unemployment benefits.

Life isn't easy. The sooner you learn that the better off you'll be.

You seem to think government is the answer, I see government as the problem.
your model is too simplistic by not solving for capitalism's natural rate of inefficiency regarding full employment.

Capitalism built this country, it should be left alone. If you don't want to work a minimum wage job then you should have stayed your ass in school and got an education. The way I see it, employees negotiate their contract with an employer and if they aren't happy with it then they can look for employment elsewhere. Why should I have to pay you fifteen dollars to do a job that Joe down the street will do for ten?
Capitalism did not build this country; that required socialism.

The way I see it; if you don't understand the concepts, it must just be crony forms of capitalism at work.

Capital was used to build this country; but capitalism could never accomplish what socialism has, with the United States of America.

And so they did. American capitalists had almost a free hand in gaining control of a country unimaginably rich in natural resources. In straight-out contests of strength with both organized and unorganized workers American capitalists usually triumphed. State violence, judge-made law, compliant legislatures, and administrative procedures were arrayed effectively against challenges from below.

There's nothing more disgusting then hearing a loserterian whine about how we should let them die.
Well, they won't directly say "let them die."

Actually some in a tea party audience did. According to the article below at least 3 in the audience did. Many in the audience clapped and cheered in agreement with the suggestion of just let them die.

While ron paul made excuses for his attitude of just let them die.

Socialism is destroying the country.

Can you name a single successful civilization that doesn't pay taxes for roads, police, energy infrastructure and at least the great ones science institutions??? America has never done without at least some government.

Yeah, that's why the people in America, even the poor, have a higher standard of living than 99% of the planet.

Leftism is a personal infatuation with envy, greed and arrogance. Leftists are destroying the vary system that has made them wealthy, in the name of being poor. They are all just spoiled brats, who never grew up into adulthood, and learned to stop blaming everyone else for everything that happens to them.

It's always odd that people focus on the lowest paying jobs leaving the country, when no one wants to do the lowest paying jobs.

No one wants to work at a Cable TV call center, explain to Aunt Edna that the problem is she didn't plug the TV's power cord in. Call Centers are low paying crap jobs. I've done it... never again.

You want to pay another $20 a month, so that a snotty American teenager and treat you like crap from an American call center? Really? That's your big plan to save America?

Guy, what made us wealthy was a progressive state with a high level of unionization. I don't live as well as my father did DESPITE having more education.

Most of us don't. That's 30 years of the War on the Working Class.

But you gots your bible and your gun, and you can look down on that lady who got an abortion because she couldn't afford a kid.

If you specifically do not live as well as your father did, that's on you.

I don't live as well as my father did, but that's my fault. It just is.

But as a society, if you are trying to claim that we don't live as well as our parents, you a freakin nutz. No one alive in the 1970s, says we need to go back to that. No one in the 50s and 60s, would ever claim those days were better than these, unless you are talking about culture.

Now culturally we have lost a ton. It's pathetic how badly we've slid. People used to have friends. No one has friends anymore. We used to have community. People would go to their church, and eat together, and enjoy company. No one has community anymore. We used to have safety, and people left their doors open, and left their cars unlocked on the street with the keys in them. Now if someone steals your car, people blame you for having left it unlocked, instead of the criminal for stealing it. People used to stay together, and live as a family. Now people look at you liked you just beamed down, if you are married to one woman, and all the kids are all yours.

In short, our culture has been absolutely destroyed by the left.

But economically, you are fruit bat crazy. We are 20 times better off than we were one generation ago. Easily.

I couldn't agree more. In some ways, things were better back in the 70's and in other ways not.

I think back then, adults had pride and responsibility. I sometimes wonder if anybody knows what pride is today, and irresponsibility became the foundation of the Democrat party.

Kids would walk to the playground all by themselves without a cop stopping them to ask why they are alone. Mom was always there and not working 60 hours a week forcing you to live off of fast food. Free school lunch? It was around back then, but most parents were too proud to have the government feed their own children. It was embarrassing. And yes, those warm summer nights when you slept with the front door open without a second thought.

When summer came along, everybody went outside. There was nothing on television because there were only three channels, and all they did was run repeats. Many people didn't even have air conditioning back then. The kids would play ball on the street and the adults would sit outside and talk until past dark. Today, everybody runs inside because that's where all the entertainment is at. It doesn't make sense to count on having a discussion with neighbors because you don't even know most of them. you never see them.

All Clinton did was sign the budgets. It was the newly elected Republican Congress that balanced the budget and kept us out of debt. Welfare? Remember what party it was that pushed through Welfare Reform. Clinton vetoed it twice before being forced to sign it.

Wait... you disagree?
Why do you hate Darwin?

But we are. You are just ignorant, and oblivious. No social program has ever helped me, and every single one of them has hurt me. I can see it on my pay check. It's called "taxes". I'd be way better off without them.

Guy, nothing hurts you except your own backwardness and superstition. That and you are batshit crazy.

You say that loss of religion is a good thing, and yet everything is getting worse. One in every 10 Americans is now on antidepressants.

you mean we are using SCIENCE to treat depression instead of Superstition? That's kind of awesome.

By what measure would you say things have improved?

As for me, I'm fine. But then, I know G-d is alive and well in heaven. So I'm a mute point. What about the rest of society?

If your belief in an Invisibile Sky Pixie is what keeps you from being more of a douchebag than you already are, good on you man.

I couldn't agree more. In some ways, things were better back in the 70's and in other ways not.

I think back then, adults had pride and responsibility. I sometimes wonder if anybody knows what pride is today, and irresponsibility became the foundation of the Democrat party.

Pride was bringing home a good paycheck. something that is harder to do with Republicans making war on the middle class.

Kids would walk to the playground all by themselves without a cop stopping them to ask why they are alone.

And you had lots of neighborhood perverts that no one talked about, because there was a lack of awareness. You know, especially the creepy ass Catholic Priest.

Mom was always there and not working 60 hours a week forcing you to live off of fast food. Free school lunch? It was around back then, but most parents were too proud to have the government feed their own children. It was embarrassing.

Back then, Dad brought home a good union paycheck so you didn't need to. What happened to those good union paychecks? Oh, yeah, that's right, they went to China or a right to work state, never to be seen again.

And yes, those warm summer nights when you slept with the front door open without a second thought.

yeah, that was stupid.

When summer came along, everybody went outside. There was nothing on television because there were only three channels, and all they did was run repeats. Many people didn't even have air conditioning back then.

We also didn't have Global Warming back then where it was often too hot to go outside.

The kids would play ball on the street and the adults would sit outside and talk until past dark. Today, everybody runs inside because that's where all the entertainment is at. It doesn't make sense to count on having a discussion with neighbors because you don't even know most of them. you never see them.

And how is the fact your neighbors think you are strange the fault of Democrats, exactly?
