Actress Ellen Page Battles Ted Cruz over ‘Religious Freedom’ and LGBT Rights
I don't even like Ted Cruz--he seems like a 24/7 panderer (that whole thing about discovering country music after 9/11 was so lame, and his sucking up to Trump)--and he sort of drops the ball at the end of the conversation
And outside of the X-men films I've never seen any of Ellen's work but both of these people had a pretty nice dialogue on LGBT discrimination and religious freedom. Ellen wasn't combative, wasn't trying to be a heckler or anything, and Cruz didn't get super defensive. He tried to answer her questions, and even though she didn't agree with most of what he said, she seemed to accept the answers he gave.
A nice example of a civil discussion on the campaign trail
